It was more of a looks question, because radial lacing IMO looks bad ass... I also weigh 113lbs, so it should be no biggie... I just keep reading that its not good because its known to mess-up hubs (to much force put on the "holes" in the hub)?...

radial lacing is worse than being gay.

you cant radial lace sides that have discs on them, or the drive side of the rear wheel. other than that go for it, unless you have a king and it will void your warranty. it makes for a pretty stiff wheel though.

i have BT hubs, and one side is laced radially while the other side is 2cross, the wheels were laced by hugo at HBtrials though so i have no idea how why or if its right. hope that helps =p

Radial lacing saves a minimal amount of weight. Some people like the way it looks. It is much weaker than other forms of spoking a wheel. If you want to learn more, try reading one of the two good books on wheelbuilding.

Yea i just think it looks bad ass... I like how it looks alot...

Can any specify the actually things that will happen on the drive side or a disc brake side?
Does the fact that im little matter? (113 lbs)

Just woundering... Thanks everyone!

I would imagine that the reason for radial lacing not being used on the rear or in disk apps. is because the point of the applied torque (disk brakes or pedaling) is farther from the ground, causing a lot of rotational force in the wheels which will cause the rim to rotate around the hub. The other lacings prevent it.

you dont use radial lacing on the rear drive side or the side of a disc for two reasons:

the torque causing the spokes to flex and you get a lagging feeling of the rim being "pulled" due to a weaker lacing.

the spokes pull on the hub flange directly out from center and can actually rip the flange apart. i did this to a king hub a few years back. once one spoke rips out the whole flange starts to fall apart.

in general the only time i would recomment it would be on a front wheel if you are using a rim brake.

I'm DEFINITELY not saying to lace the drive side of your wheel radially BUT these are radial drive side and 2-cross non-drive and are some of the stiffest wheels I have ever ridden.

Just an observation though.

Thats what i was thinking, that many race and road bikes are radial... hmmm... there has to be SOMEONE in trials with radial wheels... well either way, thanks everyone for the info and for your input and knowledge, its appreciated!

I used to have a front wheel that was radial on the Non disc side and a rear king hub that was radial on non drive and 3x on the drive. I never had any problems with the wheel. I am 165 and a buddy of mine had the excact same set up and he weighed 210 or so.

P.S. I have spoke's for a mod wheel that will take a 3x pattern. You can just have em' since I dont have a mod anymore.

Ride tomorrow????
