So my chainwheel has been getting warped and I had no idea why since I have such a fatty bashgaurd, i eventually take it off to flatten it out or do something and I discover that 2 of the 4 places where the arm bolts onto the chainwheel had broken and the uneven torque was causing the chainwheel to warp. So can anyone recommend a type of crank set I should buy? Is it possible to buy individual crank arms? Is pounding my wraped chainwheel flat a good idea? The part that broke was a Truvativ Holzfeller-DH Howitzer Crank Set.

please help i hate having a broken and parked bike. :run:
If the BB is in good shape, you may be best off buying cranks that will work with it. However, the price difference may not be that great.
So what do you want for your new one? Trials-specific? The ability to run FFW? Any BCD you want? How much can you spend?
There are ISIS, square taper, external BB, etc. There are proprietary chainring styles (Middleburn, etc.), BMX-style chainwheels, 104mm, 110mm, and 94mm BCDs. There are 165, 170, 175mm arms (as well as others). There are forged, hollow, and chromoly arms.
Your price range and your preferences will help figure out what you should get.

If you use a sandard chainring, make sure that you use steel.
Check c-ring bolts for torque and damage often.
If you are dead set on a new and cooler set-up, get some trials specific cranks and a new BB. Many are great, most are good, and a few are bunk.
