The "Pro" class will use UCI rules. All "Pro" riders, regardless of age and wheel size will compete against one another, as far as the results will show. Brian, sorry, I had to delete the other thread. The formatting I was using kept screwing up the text editor.

This event will replace the NATS event. I cannot do the two-day event this year.

Oh, and only the "Pro" riders that qualify for the Worlds will need to buy their UCI International license. DO NOT BUY YOUR LICENSE UNTIL YOU KNOW WHETHER YOU ARE QUALIFIED TO GO.

heyyyyyyy, I'll be 19 on the 15th! I'll be there. Flying this year though. Is the Acuff Inn the proposed place to stay? I might need a car and someone to ride with. Anyone? :wavey:

Where are you planning on flying into? I'll be coming up from Atlanta, so if your airport is along the way I wouldn't mind giving you a ride to and fro.

Bump to attach flyer:

BTW, I tried to get permission from the Swiss rider in this this picture I took in Livigno 2005 but have not been able to get a response. If you are this rider or know this rider and would prefer I not use this picture, I will take the flyer down.

I thought I should offer some clarification on the Pro class at this event since several people have asked. This event will run pretty much like a normal event. There will still be a "Pro" class. The only thing is that I'll be using UCI rules, all rules, for the entire Pro class. The qualifying will only apply to those riders interested in representing the US at the Worlds. For example, let's say the results come out like this:

### Pro ###
Place - Name - Country - Age - Bike
1st - Frank - Canada - 18 - 20"
2nd - Walter - USA - 22 - 26"
3rd - Phil - Cuba - 21 - 20"
4th - Robert - USA - 17 - 20"

Then I would select Frank for Elite 26" and Robert for Junior 20". However, the results, purse and medals would be based on the overall, as above.

Does this make sense?

I was there Wednesday to put on a kids event. It was hot but not as humid as a two years ago. There's supposed to be a cool front coming through just a few days before the event so hopefully it will be decent.

I'm out. My front wheel died on me today (cracked the rim and pulled a spoke through.) Oh well, maybe next year.

Ah, Tanner, come on. You can use my front wheel. Heck, you can use my whole bike if you want. It's a dual-disk Woodman T-Comp. It might be a little short for you, though.

As usual, Mike Friddell set excellent sections and fun was had by all.

My hope is that other Pro/Expert riders will step up and hold events at their respective places around the country. Combine it with a mountain bike event and encourage mountain bikers to try it out in the beginner class. Some will have fun and get pulled into trials while others will say no thanks. This is how trials has grown over the years and will continue to.

Thanks again Mike and family!!
