Echo pure vs Brisa BT 5.0

At least I think that's the model Brisa it was...

So anyway I was offered the Brisa frame for (AUS) $250 delivered, it's a 2005 model. Or there is a store online that has Echo pure frames for $299 (+delivery) brand new.

The geos seem pretty similar and the pic of the Brisa looked ok... but I know nothing about them.... is one way better than the other for any particular reason?

I could well be talking about the Raven! Like I said, I know nothing about Brisas. So you reckon they're shite... care to ellaborate??

as far as i know brisa went out of business. all their frames and forks broke and they were having trouble keeping up with the warranty replacements of them all. i've barely heard their name mentioned in a couple years now.

if it's a BT raven though, all is gravy. i'm not sure what one i'd take, depends on the condition of the raven.

I picked up a BT Raven 5.0 frame last year in really good condition and built it up. I'm very happy with it. I guess the only downside is it only has V brake mounts not 4 bolt mounts for the rear brake if you are worried about that.

The raven 5.0 also came with 4 bolt mounts. You had the choice of either.

If the BT is in good shape, that would be the one that I would get.

The reason I say the BT vs. the Echo, is because the quality in the way the Bt is made looks alot cleaner and the welds are niceer, in my opinion.

Thanks guys... sorry for the vagueness in exactly which model it is... I have a feeling it was a Brisa. I seem to remember Brisa and 5.0 or something, and naturally I can't find the exact page it was on.

if its the one ive got its a BT RAVen 5.0. its actully tomacs old frame that has been modified with a rear disc mount by grip.

bt 5.0 is nice. i cracked mine, but very nice while it lasted.

Ah this is the sort of thing I like to hear... especially as I just transferred the money over.

It's gonna be a dodge build a first, but will hopefully become more respectable as skills/money allow.
