wicked:)
My friend Gabó is verry good with this carbon material!
He has a degree in engeneering i think so he know's what he is doing.
This is he's latest creation:

The frame was stuck together from two pieces, because he used vacuum to form the "half" tubes using a shape made out of some rubber like thing.
The frame is 1.3 kilo so you can call it light :)
If we can convince him to make a trial frame then i will let you guys know ;)

Nice! (On both accounts.) I like that the first is a GT. Everyone bashed GT when they sold out. It sucked, and for a few months they put GT logos on shitty Pacific bikes. They learned real quick when people stopped buying the nice GT's. Now they are dumping some actual money into engineering. That second bike is amazing looking!!

a koxx xtp frame is 1.6k.. pretty heavy carbon frame there

Brisa bar and stem. 1.2kg is not that heavy for something made in a garage, or whatever.

:luke: XTP cannot be 1.6kg, the KOXXBOXX is 1.6kg wich still is a "wow", and a pretty fragile frame . XTP is actualy ~1.8 -1.9kg depending on the leght.

lopes was on a carbon proto that looked like the idrive5 out at sea otter.
specialized has had carbon frames lighter and stronger than any of the aluminum frames for like 3 years now. the only reason they arent out now is customer confidence. they have to ease the technology into the market.

Back in 1997 I used to own a Carbbon Mongoose bmx racing frame. Although I cracked it within 2 months.

carbon has come a long way in ten years.
really nice bike ! get him to make a trials frame ;) but i wonder how strong it is . And a trials bike tumbling down the rocks isnt good for carbon i would guess.

That SS carbon bike from that Gabo character looks soooo gooooooddd.
Too bad about the trials bike.
Even still, applaudable for his efforts.
PS is that the tallest person alive?
Yes it's true he made the trials frame first, but the SS bike was made with the proper technology whitch can result in much much nicer trials frames in the future hopefully!
Don't have a clue about he's future plans, but i have an interview with him later this week so will ask him about that :)
TRA: i think the metal frames are much more fragile to the hits made by rocks than the carbon fiber :naughty:
By the way how is your Koxx Karbon holdin up? :Sonic:
Yeah Gabó is a small guy :momaru:

OMG, I love this bike.
Simplicity.

Carbon is considerably stronger than aluminium though.
The frame is probably stronger and stiffer than a heavier alloy frame.
Also added weight from metal fitting sorta things??
Did he have to add metal into head tube and around dropouts and in BB to make threads and have something to squash headset into?

How about tensioner type in this frame ? Is it similar to German's Hoffman or its ENO ecentric in the rear ?

Yes the main idea is he same using an excenter rear fitting.

Yepp, he has made aluminium and that is stuck to the frame using a special type of glue.
