View Full Version : another beginner bike ??
Like most other beginners, I have a mtn bike, hardtail, SC Chameleon.
I've worked on balancing "tricks" but not to much more.
For a step into the trials world, is it better to learn on a mod? Or would it better to stay with the 26" version?
The mods seem like a lot of fun and very "flickable". I'm very intrigued by them, but don't know how practical, or acceptable they really are.
any insight for someone who is really wanting to make the next move?
thanks,
-tep

you can make a search on this. and theres another thread in general chat already on it.
it is apparently easier to learn on a mod (because of weight and size) , but i am a begginer who is learning a stock, and its going fine for me so far.

I asked the same question and soon found out there is really no difference. Sept maybe the stock can roll over some things a little more effortlessly then the Mod. I ride a stock and then after a few weeks rode a Mod no real difference a little lighter, geometry seems a bit strange at first (prolly from going from stock to MOD) and lower to the ground but all the petal kicks feel the same no matter. Its really what you like the best IMO I like stock because I feel i have a bit more room for error on it. Just my opinion.
