View Full Version : Rim & Handlebar
Which rim(for back wheel) & handlebar do you prefer and why!?
ok, I see nobody answer and I'll start :
rim - Try-all because I have one and i like it, and its very good
handlebar - Echo because i ride a bike with echo handlebar and I like the feeling but I don't know if this are the better one...

I'm using a DX32, it's cheap and reliable, but looking at something wider soon.
Handlebar, ZOO! Cause that's what came with the bike I bought and I like the width.
I was riding a bike with zoo handlebar but i don't like it...I think the flatbar is better...

I liked my V!Z rim a bit more than my echo but I haven't had a problem with either. My Zhi bar is working far but I know nothing else so......
my rims are tryall drilled. pretty solid, paint is starting chipping but no other complaints. seems to be a bit of grindin space. still on the first
my bars are monty pretty flat full length. i think id like to switch to a riser, or at least try it out for a while. maybe something with a LOT of rise. dunno tho.
which rim do you prefer: with 32 spokes (I hope to wrote corectly) or 36....

I think most will say 32. More hubs are 32, its a little lighter.. a little. And for the most part a 32 spoked trials wheel is plenty strong.
aham...thank you. I ask because I heard the 36 spokes is better, but every one is using the 32...

Clearly 36h is going to be stronger however; as I found out just a couple of months ago, it is almost imposiible to get 36h rims unless you want to stick with dx32(thet are the most readily available) or wait for try-all to be shipped. I am most certainly heavier than everyone on this forum and my 32h rims are holding just fine.

Hey Mangler, I live in Phoenix and am a noob trials rider, try to practise a couple times a week. Do you know of any local trials groups and/or riders? Are there any spots out in your area that trials peeps frequent? I don't know of any riders in my area (downtown). Every once and a while I'll see some bmx kids throwin down but that's it.
I order a try-all(32h)...:D thank you
I choose for my bike : echo handlebar and try-all rim

if u are drilling your rims a 36h wheel is lighter (only by a bit). the difference i weight of 4 more holes is more then 4 more spokes. that said 32h wheel vs 36h wheel, both are very similar in strength, 32h is easier to get. so if u have the choice go 32
ok, thanks for the answer but how can I grind it!? if I let without grind is anything wrong?
