Just a quick question. I have misplaced my chain breaker, and wanted to know if anyone has come up with a crazy way to get the chain off without having one around.
Thanks in Advance.
I remember doing it with pliers once. It didnt end well.

What everyone is trying to say here is that no, you shouldnt do it without a breaker.

do you want it all the way off the bike or just off the cog? to get off the cog even if it's tight just move one link and crank really hard. to remove completely, get a chain tool. there's tons of ways to remove a chain without a tool. non of them end in being able to re-use the chain.

Actually, it's possible
I used a hammer and centre-punch to remove it, and then a vice to put it together again. Obviously not ideal, but if you think about what you are doing and don't rush anything it's not too hard to get a decent result from it :P
