Hi all,

I recently found out about this firm Mielec that does custom aluminium frames at decent costs and I was so glad that such thing exists that I thought I'd help them out and design a new firm logo for them. (I know some of you guys are against them for copying frames, and I also don't quite agree to that, but I think that is mostly the fault of the guys that order. Anyway, let's pease not discuss that on this thread )
I made 2 slightly different versions: one that is a bit more feminin, and one more bold. Feel free to submit to the poll and leave comments.
It would be fun if some guys that are involved with Mielec would give some feedback, I know there are a few around here.
I also sent the design through e-mail to bikemielec directly, I'm curios what their oppinion would be.. let You know later..

I voted 1. I think they are both awesome designs. If a little similar to other bike/sport designs.

Great stuff though.

When I need logos and stuff done for myself, ill come to you.

It looks like you used Illustrator to make the logos with and a lot of the pen tool.

I'd prefer a logo that makes the head tube stronger, so that it doesn't ovalize.

thanks for the compliments!
I used Corel Draw, since I know it for a long time. Illustrator has some great features, and i would love to know it better, it just takes a while to get accustomed and is less technical from what i've seen, but again, it has a lot of useful tools (like selection per color, transforming an outline into a filled shape..)

I've been in the graphic design field for a few years now and Illustrator is an industry standard. The program is extremely powefull, vector art for one.You get corel free for buying a printer, it's not even in the same league as Illustrator.

Good work. I voted for number one because the "i" in the second version looks waay to much like the Snafu logo to me....

I voted for number one. I have just ordered a frame from them and I know a guy in my town that makes stickies, realy good ones to. Maybe I talk to him and he can make me some of thoose and I can use them on my frame, if its ok for you?

the "i" looks the same in both versions. The only difference between the two versions is the shape of the big M. You probably refer to the vertical series of "mielec" in the lower left of the second pic, but that can be used with either (or none) of the 2 versions.
About the snafu logo, I see that is somewhat similar, but that shape (the point of the "i") I think is a pretty easy shape to come up with and is probably used in many other stuff also. I didn't know about the snafu logo anyway (didn't know about the snafu firm at all actually). The first post also sais that it is simmilar to some other sporting logos, and it might be..don't know how easy it would be to come up with something that doesn't resamble anything done yet, BUT i didn't get inspiration from other stuff, It just sort-of came to me, and I started playing around with shapes and this is what came out after testing long enough.

Sure, post some pics with the bike with the stickers applied when You get it, I'm curios how it looks

I wasn't attacking the work in any way so I hope you didn't get the impression. I figured it just happened and was not intentional in any way. I really did like the first one a bit better anyway so that is not what changed my decision or anything. :-) Good work.
