i've having a litte trouble with my rear mod wheel, it doesn't seem to want to spin freely. it feels as if my brakes are rubbing (but of course they're not) I have an echo rear fixed hub and an echo lite frame. I have fuked around with this alot, but being as this is my first mod, maybe i'm missing something obvious. I've tried not tightening the hub bolts too tight, and loosening the chain tension a bit. this helps but still not too much. any ideas? maybe something wrong with my eno freewheel? (not too familiar with these things, spent my life on a king:))
also when i have the wheel off the bike it seems to spin fine...:bigthumb:

Check that the tension on your chain isn't too tight.

Make sure your snail cams aren't touching a spinning part of the hub.

tire hitting chain stays?
nope
Check that the tension on your chain isn't too tight.
already loosened it off a bunch

Not familiar with the Echo hubs, but I've had rear hubs at work before where the cone locknuts tighten as you tighten the axle nuts, locking the bearings up. If it's not a sealed bearing hub, look for this.
Also make sure you try spinning the ENO freewheel without the chain attached, to make sure that's not the prob.

yeh its probably the bearings....
im not familiar with the echo's either, but if they are similar to monty/quando/try-all........
they all run on cartridge bearings.....just go down to your lbs or bearing shop, get a matching set and away you go.....
plus the new bearings you get will actually be decent quality than the rubbish you get from trials manufacturers........:( :greddy:

it's sealed bearings, so no cones. kinda weird axle though. i'm gonna take it apart tonight.
P.S. the huib is brand new, so is everything else. (cept the eno, which is totally fine)

yeh my try-all hub was brand new too when the bearings screwed up.
you need to take out the axle and the bearings.
get a rubber mallet and hit the axle square on. it will knock out the opposite side catridge bearing. then you can tap out the otherside through the hubshell.
then you can really feel if your your bearings are rolling. ten bucks says its your bearings.
when you get new ones, you can use a right sized socket head and hammer to tap the new bearings into the hubshell. They are simply press fitted.

10 bucks says I could fix this within 15 minutes if I had the bike in front of me but it's close to impossible to troubleshoot this online. go to your lbs.

actually i work at a shop. i took the hub apart. the bearings are fine, not perfect but fine. if i spin the wheel in my other bike it's fine. it's actually the rear dropout that is twisted. haha go echo! i tried to straighten it with the park tool candlesticks, but it ain't happeneing :greddy:
