hey, i think about a 2.35" maxxis highroller DH on the rear. it would be only for nature trial and maybe comps. is that a good idea.
I have 86kg and ride a try all 42mm rim.
Hope you can help.

Should work well on a 42mm rim.

i used a 2.35 High Roller on my DX32 for a while, it was great, but I have a 2.5 now. Weight difference b/w 2.35 and 2.5 is very small, though.

I have been using 2.35 minions on a dx32 for about 2 years now and it's great. I can get the 2.35 way cheaper than the 2.5. My front tire is a 2.5 which looks a little funny but I'm going to use it until it wears out. I'm cheap.

Maxxis tires are significantly under-sized. I used their 2.35 on the front and stuck with 2.5 or 2.7 on the rear (with 47mm tryall rim).

i tried that once and it was bad, hated it because it was bouncing me from side to side on the real wheel. not a good size for the rear in my experience i ended up selling it the same day.

o rly? I used 2.35's for years. I had them on a DX32 and I always felt the 2.5 rolled way too often on off camber rocks..... I'm pretty light though, 140 lbs

okay, i think i will give it a try.
thx for your answers.
2.35 on 42mm sounds good to me. Less chance of flat pinch.

am I on crack? Maxxis tires are narrower than others for a given width. Personally I would want 2.5. Double-ply makes for a big difference over single-ply for flats and low pressure. And I find a durometer over 50 to be slippery. I have a 2.35 mobster (rear) on my xc bike...

i was actually thinkin about running a highroller 2.35 on my rear echo 46mm any objections. i got a 2.5 right now and im not sure that i need that much grip/ weight / price. im like 5"7 130 im gonna give it a try when my 2.5 runs out . i can always put it on my dj.

I don't understand. But I guess the wide rim will spread the tire out. And if I infer correctly from previous posts here, the spread out tire will roll (side to side) less since it is less like a balloon at the end of your rim.
Well I've seen slow reezay 2.35s on sale for cheap, maybe I'll give'er a try too.

:ugh2: better ask that on our german forum...
You won't get them that cheap anyway, unless they're used. 32 Euros without shipping is the cheapest I've found so far... single plys are cheaper though.
try mountainbikes.net or bike-components.de
