A piece of my FSA Platinum Pro broke tonight. Problem is, I'm not sure what to call it, end cap I guess. Sheared right off. Sorry no pics.
My bike still functions properly, still pedals smoothly.
Would anyone care to enlighten me of the implications of riding with that piece broken?

See the part on the right hand side? I put magenta dots on the part that 'broke off'. Yea that part just sheared right off. Theres just this ring sitting on my spindle now. Kinda weird to be honest.
I'm trying to ride cheap until I move. Is getting a whole new BB the only thing to do? Maybe I can just ride on it?

you're lucky it's drive side, it would be a bitch to remove otherwise. you can get replacements from FSA. it's not really that big a deal unless your bottom bracket is loose, that thing is only used to hold on the inner ring of some MRP chainguides, and to bottom out on the frame when you're tightening it. when you're going to remove it, take out the non drive side first (the whole bottom bracket) then you should be able to unscrew that cup by hand (because you no longer have the splines to unscrew it). I would make sure the entire cup isn't snapped - that happened to me once.

So considering how cheap I am, I can just ride it?

I've done it. The BB doesn't move in the frame does it?

I've done that too. With a platinum pro too. I just rode it for a while until I could get to the bike shop. It backed out a bit eventually and started creaking. The most annoying thing was that ring rattling around on the axle.
