Hard question to answer. People will tell you to get the long one because of your height. The thing is, I for one, and many other people don't like really long bikes. They aren't as flickable as a short bike.
So it depends on your style a lot. If you want a really natural trials bike that isn't going to perform well at other stuff, then get something long.
The question I would be asking is why do you want that bike in particular? There are many frames out there.
The stem.
-that is another thing that depends on your riding style. Many people like long stems, but those kind of screw up your bunny hopping, and again IMO make the bike biased towards natural trials. The stem is the last thing you worry about. Hopefully you have a stem lying around your house that you can use. Start with something that is about 100mm long and 10 degree rise. That is a good place to start with. Later on you will have a feeling about what stem size you really need. So your first stem should be cheap.
-anyways, I think a 1070 frame would be good for your height, and will give you a bike that can be good at natural and street. Actually any frame around that size.

1.7 meters ~ 5'7"
I personally would recomend the short. I think you'll be happier with it. but as said above it all depends on riding style, preferance, and what you can get. to make it simple. get a short.
I ride a 1033 echo mod and I'm 5'10" ~ 1.78 meters and sometimes I think the long is a little long for me. it's nice on natty but a short would just be easier to flick around.

Do you know anybody that has a mod bike for you to try out? Truth be told i really dont think you will be able to know whether you need a long or a short until you have spent some time on them. Your height is kinda in the inbetween area where you could go either way and ride really good so its all up to what you are comfortable on.
