Chris King problem

I ve a big problem... I ve got a Chris King hub, but it doesn t work properly like i want.:dunno: Please give me some ideas: How can I modiefy or handle it.

Ex: Sometimes the two drive rings cannot nest together again. I stretched the spring, and its sound was laud, but after this sound became soft.

Guys, please help me!

Why the hell would you stretch your spring?
Is it clean, are you using proper fluid? Torquing it right?

Sounds to me like poor user maintenence. I've got a king with no special parts, just the cheap aluminum parts and it works flawlessly because I haven't taken it apart and stretched my spring and tried to modify zero tolerant parts.

I recently re-built mine with triflow instead of CK lube. I did also streach my spring and that did the trick. It doesen't skip any and works flawless.

I would never recommend stretching the spring. I bought my hub used, rebuilt it, never stretched anything, and it works flawless...

Phil wood is also an awesome thin lube to use on the ring drive. Protects it a bit more too since it is just a tiny bit thicker. But Chris king ring drive lube should be used inside the bearings, unless you aren't doing a full overhaul.

What do you mean as proper fluid? I used a normal engine oil. I know, it is not so good, but i dont know what to buy.
