Is your bashguard ziptied on?
Matty

yer. The bolt rounded off then my lbs re-threaded it. :P But then soon after it rounded off again and next time he said its abit job because you gota make the whole alot bigger and get a next size bolt (doesn't sound to hard) but I want a new frame so I can't be bothered with the bother to be honest, when the zip tie does a good job ;) Lol.

ok dude. the ziptie. the LEAST you could do is tighten it all the way just get a bolt that's too big and ram it in there. or be cool and find someone with a tap and die set and do what I did and put a nice big strong bolt in there. Allen head bolt cost me about $1.20 for two at lowes.

how do you expect to fit a hope xc in there?
trialsrider50

overall it doesn't look like a bad setup. i'd ditch the headset spacer and cut down the steerer. or just move it on top of the stem. I've found in general the lower your front end is. the better it'll: provide clearance for all kinds of moves, balance on the rear tire, and most importantly, ride so weird that others won't want to borrow your bike all the time.

i think the issue is the dropout spacing. mods are usually 110 or 116. hope xc hubs should be 135mm. it won't fit.

Is that just for the rear????

yeah. rear spacing on mods and single bikes is usually 110 or 116(which allows room for two 3mm tensioners to be placed inside the dropout if the design doesn't allow for use outside the dropout)
and stock bikes will usually run 135mm spacing (except the new echo bikes that give the option of running 116 for single speed)
dh and freeride bikes even run 150mm spacing sometimes but usually have 10 or 12mm axles to go along with this.
basically if you are running front freewheell then it doesn't really matter what rear hub you run as long as it stays together.

oki. Might look at the viz hubs for the rear :) The thing is the rear hub can wait because its still going strong (Touch wood). Not sure what to save for when I got my tensile freewheel on and my disc and front hope xc hub. I might just save for the rear hub. Or maybe cranks ;) Could do with some new pedals and I actually do need them the most so I think ile go with Pedals , lol.

Could u make thos pictures a bit blurrier, i can almost read the writing on the frame lol.
Is there chance that u could dent the frame coming down the the bash gaurd then the bash smacking the frame, or is that even possible? Because normally if u tap to bash, ur hitting the bash protecting the frame, but if u hit the bash when it's zip tied, u'll hit the bash then the the bash will hit the frame and cause damage, is that possible?
Matty

Dunno , sorry. I can't tap up anyway and by the time I can ile have a new frame :bigthumb:

his bars looks pretty low as is. once you get them low enough all your bike is good for is taps and lunges.

what is a lunge?
besides a gay exercise
dkoppric
03-19-2007, 09:15 PM
a lunge is pretty much any move where you start statically and throw the bike forward or when you put the front wheel on an object and then lunge up it.
more or less the moves in comps that are tricky and where people get all of their points.
a lot of people forget that there are more moves to trials than front wheel taps and sidehops....

Can't win really because if the bike was high it would only be good for certain things, lol :riaa:
Anyway, why add the spacer on the top bud??? I would have thought it just make the bars seem lower :hsugh:

that's why, to make the bars lower. I've just discovered that low front ends on mods are so key. unless you want to bunny hop. the lower the front end (to a resonable level of course) the better back tire balance is, as well as clearance on the front and front tire pivots.
anyways, mine's low and I like it.
