Monty is making their bikes even uglier. Nice

That looks like a bike I could not even come close to riding.

By the way, I meant this not as a dig at the appearance. I just think I couldnt physically ride that bike at all. But I pretty much suck.

awesome. i've always wanted to ride a frame that looks like when parkinson's tries to draw a straight line.

What's with all the Santa Cruz Nomad lookalike bikes these days?? There's the new Marin, some cheap taiwanese frames and now this.:hsugh:

BTW, Dani won with only 8 dabs, Benito second with 35, Raul Gutierrez third with 36, and Juan D de la Pena forth with 38....

From second onwards the points are very close, Dani is way ahead of the rest, lets see if Benito catches up to Dani from his broken arm....

I love the look of the Santa Cruz Jackal... but I just can't get over how out of place that hump looks on a trials bike.

second pic ftw. that's HAWT!

Chris

Maybe the second one is the real one. The other four were photoshopped to confuse us http://smiliesftw.com/x/hsughmamoru.gif

Maybe both bikes are photoshopped, too ugly to be real. OOOH I forgot it's a Monty :D

Patrick

I would ride them both. It's not like the rest of our bikes don't look like freakazoid circus clown toys

MIKE1968

I'd ride either of them.

they could have made those curves at least symetrical so they look the same.

It's a beautiful thing, maybe someday I can replace my python with that.

the photoshop'ed one looks awesome!

Woah look at how big that sidehop is. I assume they changed the bb height, cuz that stem looks like a full size stem on with a monty bar which has tons of rise and sweep.

maybe someone with some sort of engineering background can say this better, but wouldn't that curve up in the tube add strength the to the front end by making a small triangle like section? Making up for the fact that the tubes are so close together making the main triangle weaker?

I think you know what youve just started with that question.

CriPPle

Im guessing the footlong stem is just coz dani is huge

if the proto gets released it'll be the standard monty stem

whats the purpose of that curve? any ideas?
To look like Afrobot's bike? Can anyone find pics of that bike? similar looking.

I actually really like the bike, although I've always liked montys...:greddy:

the silver looks nice too, more like a gun-metal gray? although maybe that's just my eyes. The brown rims look kickass...

My guess is that the top hump is to relieve stress. Monty learned ALOT about stress with the old X-Lites (remember those sub 19 pound wonders!). If the tube is curved, it will tend to flex (a tiny bit...) and extend the life of the frame. This has been proven on other bikes/models.... just this is the first one to do it in trials in this fashion.

Personally I think it is pretty cool looking (in an eating 'shrooms kinda way). Then again, I thought that the old school Varios from years ago were sexy.... and Emily Procter.......errr.... uh....

Anyway, I am hard pressed to decide whether this Monty or the Koxx Hydroxx is the coolest mod bike of the year.

I like it, reminds me of a shark, or dolphin, either way its a lean mean humping machine.
