Lighter fork, no lock ons, drill lever blades and cranks, drill front hub, take off cable tie on brake lines.

Having said all that, my bike probably weighs about 2 kg more than that.

And I was looking for a heavy weight zoo video.

could be lighter...

of course! Maybe a Crossmax sl front wheel will shave of about 300g more.. a lighter handlebar will shave some more

can't believe that it's 9,9kg. Except the tires, rest is pretty heavy...

No offence but I think you should check your scales, seems too light with that spec :nono:

stefan

If that rear tire works for you, I'm jealous. It's almost 2lb lighter than my michy 2.5

I'd be nervous to drop half that much weight on a rear tire, but if you can get away with it...

that's only about 125g lighter than my bike with 2000g worth of tires (withought tubes)

hello?
03-13-2007, 01:41 AM
yeah dude you could make that bike soo much lighter
control fork
king headset
middleburns
king in the front then dunno in the back
magnesium pedals

probably get it under 20lbs and probably even be stronger

props for getting it that light with those parts tho
watch the flats

the weight i will save with those parts aint worth the money. shure i got some heavy parts but the the small amount money i payed for this bike i think it is a quite light bike. mag pedals are on the way, ~560g atomlab trailking vs ~435g gusset slim jim mag. sorry for bad english :) i usually use swedish ;) if i get flats i got some other tires like big betty and so on.

my xc bike came stock with pythons and i pinched quite a bit... and back then i was probably ~135 pounds. the side walls on that tire are terrible. the side wall ripped open long before tread was worn out.

If it works for my riding i will be happy, if it doesnt i got a big betty tire and the heavy ass try all stikie tire.. Just fun to try some new things than be boring and use "stock" stuff
