Whats the complete weight of the bike. I might be ignorant, but how much of that bike is carbon? Top tube? Maybe none?
Top tube is carbon . The weight should be at about 10.2 kilos 22.4 pounds .. im going to buy and weight and get it weighed properly, just have to get some latex tubes aswell ;) . i have magnesium pedals, titanium bolts, rohloff single speed and syntace bar/stem . and the frame is air .. =P

Nice! Looks good. I think the geo is great also.....Sub 4lb from sub. 1850 grams ;)
vincent told me the frame was 1085 380 +35 .. but the frame is only 1070 .. its good to ride, and rides soo god on rocks .. but i would have liked 1080 better.. but 1 cm .. not much

Awesome, is that going to be your new frame choice over the Coust, or just for fun?
Handlebars look narrow?

You must definitely record everything you do on that bike, or others and show it off.

Looks short for you? Reminds me of the Pure days.
The bike is short, but size isnt always what matters ;)
Feels like everything is better on it apart from touchops, high bb and short chainstay does not give good touchhops. But it will be good enough !
I love it , so much better to ride compared to coust. Coust is more like riding a tank.
The tubing is pretty thin, but i think it will do the job very well. Down tube is more like a square, so it will be more difficult to fuck up .
Only thing thats unsure about the bike is if hte glue will hold up, i dont know anything about that stuff . Where beleays prototype broke have been altered, so nothing to worry about there.
Good shit ;)
I will make longer video

that gap is huge! i need to learn how to gap further, you do it so effortlessly
Going back to the ass to rear wheel and jump as fuck, aswell as having rear wheel just on the edge to give you more speed is what works the best for me.
CoppellStereo
01-11-2007, 03:29 AM
for some reason though, i cant jump from the edge of the ledge, if i do, i usually fall off, and dont go forward any, so i have to start like 8-10inches back
Thats probably because you concentrate on pedaling rather then jumping !

What about hooks? They might loosen the glue a little though, so take it easy, which would be intense by everyone else's standards.
Are those Syntace bars the standard 680mm (27") wide. I thought you and TO had some wider ones. If so, where can they be purchased?
One thing I can say after watching TRA ride is that he is a great salesman because he makes every bike look amazing. Only problem is, I am beginning to doubt it has anything to do with the bike. Sometimes it's possible to be too good, thereby nullifying the impact of your achievements and the subsequent assumption that your equipment is aiding in your success. I think as long as the bike is mostly in one piece TRA is going to rock. I say mostly because i saw some pretty serious moves being pulled with no front tire at one point. Oh yeah, no chain too. Maybe that could be TRA's new manifesto: how many parts can he take off the bike and still pull crazy shit. Let's see it!
What cranks do you use?
170 or 175
and what gear ratio?
18/16 or 18/15 or smth else?

just have them send you a new one soon as it breaks, over and over !
Hmm .. i will take the challenge of doing crazy shit with less parts on the bike .. lol . My hand just have to heal first, just operated .
i use 175 cranks and 16-14 gear ratio .

Personally, that drop-in from the wooden hand rail was my favorite. That looked like a lot of fun, (if you can make the sidehop to backwheel of course). Let's see that from another angle.

Indeed. That takes a lot of commitment, particularly on a bike that isn't really designed for that type of riding.

1070mm is pretty short and the high bb makes it feel even shorter... I wish there was a longer version of this frame. Then it would be so awesome! But I really like that carbon tube design. Maybe they can make a carbon seat tube as well? Or just make it fully carbon :riaa:

56K NIGHTMARE!!! The pics are so huge, they don't even fit on my 24" monitor
Honestly that trials frame doesn't look more professional than Gabor's blue frame ;) It looks pretty weird, especially the chopper style one :eek5:
If I remember right, the blue one was his first prototype. Some years ago he sent me a pic of a second prototype, which was a lot nicer. But I couldn't find in anywhere. All the old sites with his carbon stuff are down.

a few years every rider in Austria used the wider Syntace bars - but they were "custom-made" with prolonging pieces from aluminium or plastic; the best bar-stem combo ever, stronger than nearly every downhill bar and bar and stem is lighter than a usual trials bar... and you can adjust it...

I really like Syntace too, but for longer wheelbase bikes the 680mm are a little too narrow. As you can see, it looked a little strange for TRA, (not that it affected his riding any). I think wider is better, but they don't make them. Oh well, maybe I will try some extensions too.
Thanks for the info.

Gabor stopped making those carbon frames. Those frames were weak. I bought one and broke it 3 times in 6 months. And i never broke any alu frame...
Carbon frames can be good (for trials too) if it's made properly.

me too, syntace is the only bike related company that plays in the same league like chris king; the have a machine, which costs more than half a million dollars to test their bars... but you are right about the length... i´m also using another bar at the moment - stupid, i should go back to syntace :slap:
