Nice, good work. Only two TISH comps though? I'm surprised... I could definitely see you adding at least two more TISH comps to that list. Seeing that it takes literally nothing but tape to put the comp on, I think we should do it.

or, just have a tish cup.. Cumulative points after 4 comps

I was thinking that in November I'll hold a 2 day Tishomingo comp with totals from both days added together to decide the winners. Probably have 12 sections each day.

Lets add a Zinc Park comp in Tulsa, OK!

I'm game for that. Let me know for sure. I'm having the awards made up in the next few weeks for all the comps.

AJ- send me an address I can send your awards and shirts to when thier ready.

'07 will rock. I'm thinking the 2 day comp at Tish in November is where we'll award overalls for the year. Just 1 big party all weekend long with a comp each day.

I'm looking forward to this years comps cause I'm gonna add Texas to my list. (For at least one or two of those anyway.)

A two day event would be awesome! That would def be worth flying out for that! I've actually never been to Texas.

Zink Park Rocks 2000'!

doesn't take any time to lay lines at the crazy zink rocks... It will take longer to pick up the empty beer cans from the night before

and clean it up so you can see all the rocks under the leaves. one of my goals this summer is to get it cleaned up a bit.

All the dates are firm. If yoou are looking for the best place to take the family plus ride, I would have to say Eureka Springs Ark. Here's the link for the town. This place has something for everyone.
http://eurekasprings.com/

Next I would suggest the Rock Springs comp down in the Hill Country. Here's the link for camp eagle. This place is awesome as well but no town within a 30 minute drive. It does have a lot for the family to do though but is a lot further away from you.

If you are only concerned with the riding then Tishomingo would be the place. Best natural I have ever ridden. Here's the link for the place.

There's really nothing for the family to do here.

This is the first year I'm going to Russellville so I really do not have much info on that.

Devils Den comp is a good one also. Really only camping, hiking and biking going on. Fayettville is close but more of a college town.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Thanks for the info. I'm actually not worried about entertaining the family the day of the comps, my family knows that those days are for me. :bigthumb: However, I was looking to find other things for them the rest of the time that we are there visiting Texas. We are Looking to stay a week or so. I heard there was a huge water park in Texas, so I was thinking of hitting that up for the kids.

Are most of the comps listed above all in Texas, besides the Tishomingo comp? Also, is the Eureka Springs Ark comp something new to the list? I don't see it on the list of comps provided.

Thanks!

Texas is pretty big so I'm not sure what water park you are talking about. The only comp on the list that is in Texas is Rock Springs. Austin is probably within a hour away. There is a lot to do in the Hill Country though. I'll see what I can find and PM you the links to some different stuff to do.

Schlitterbahn is probably a good 2 hours from Rocksprings in New Braunsfels. It's worth the trip for sure.

Yeah, I think thats the one. I saw it on the Travel Channel that was covering the top ten water parks in the nation and I think that one got 1st.

Thanks for all the info guys!

For those interested in other options for the Devil's Den comp, there are some badass cabins in Mountainburg (sp?) about 10-15 minutes from the park. When my crew goes to DD for downhill races, we stay there and it's great. We get a 5 bedroom with two full kitchens, two living areas and two bathrooms for about $150 a night (they also have smaller cabins too). We pack it up poor folk style, so it get's to be hellaciously cheap. If anyone wants more info, I can dig up the name of the place.

Bloody-- How is the DH course? Can it be ridden competitively on a 5 inch travel bike?

Edge

Only if a competitive rider is riding the 5" travel bike:coold:

Not really what I meant tball mudder..

basically, are there big rock gardens or anything like that, where big suspension is an advantage? If not, I may have to compete in sport

Devil's Den is a great course. The trail flows well and has a little bit of everything (rock gardens, steep descents, fire road, etc).
You can race in the limited travel class as long as the bike has less that 5 inches travel (front & rear). I raced the Arkie series (back when it was 7 races) a couple years ago on a hardtail with a DJ3 on the front.

Patrick

Bloody--I may not be able to compete in that class. Do you have a link for the comp>???

turns out my bike has 5.5 inches of travel

Bloody-J

No, I dont think they have a site up for it. There may be something on the main Arkie site (AMBCS?).
