OTN Days: Midwest?

Just a quick check...how many of you guys from the midwest would be interested in an OTN days in the midwest? Acolyte and I are thinking Chicago or somewhere in Minnesota? Mid july?

MN is a good location for riding, mainly in Duluth. Its waaaay too far for others to travel though.

This spring I've been planning to search the La Crosse, WI area etc., otherwise I vote for a location more towards the Chicago area.

Where ever good natty can be found is uber important.

Chicago is like a 10 hour drive from northern Minnesota.........:(. We should comprimise and go with Wisconson.

To keep things on topic, the idea of a OTN days seems to involve a place where lots of riders live and or has camping space. The Evanston rocks are dope, but Chi town isn't the best campground (unless you are drinking NightTrain). If Paul's folks would let a bunch of dirty riders crash on their lakefront I'd be down, otherwise I think we could find more accessable ground.

rockport is closer to st. louis than anything else. its probably about 4 hrs from chicago.

Duluth, MN is awesome, but really far away from anyone chicago, indiana, etc and all those people. There is nothing west of minneapolis therefore not very centralized.

Now as long as I have enough notice I would be up for requesting a weekend off of work and driving a bit so I am still open for just about anything. I would be able to take one more from the chicagoland area if my buddy goes, and two more if he doesn't. I'm a total noob, but would love to get together for a ride.

If we went to Evanston (about 15-20 min north of the loop), it would be like 90% riding the best rocks you have ever seen followed by 10% urban. dont get me wrong, theres plenty of urban, but if you have taken advantage of the rocks you will only be able to ride urban for a little bit.....

if we do a two day thing it would be really cool to do evanston lakefront rocks on saturday followed by downtown/ loop urban on sunday.

this is in late august right? if its in july i wont be able to make it.

yes, but i would say that the video didnt do justice as to how many miles of lakefront rocks there are. there are lines for all skill levels there, from rolling sections for novice all the way up to hard elite.

i would say there are at least two miles of rocks to ride...... no consecuitive though, but with very small distances in between.

No I can make it back to Chicago in the summer. I really miss riding Evanston but the ol' Chicago rides were heaps of fun too. I refuse to ride if Rudy wears anything but his usual neon orange surf shorts. Evanston has tons of good urban in town and in Northwestern, and like everyone already said there are TONS of rocks (including some super secret ones Alex and I uncovered but are kind of out of the way).

This sounds fun - 1 more vote for Chicago/Evanston.

This whole thing is a giant cluster. I'm out now...I can't make it to either. It's honestly too hard to plan for. I think that you guys should scrub the whole thing, have an informal group ride on one of the days, and re-do it next year, with one person as a figurehead, and just set a date and location. If you open it up to voting, and such, a consensus will never be reached, especially so close to the event date. Most people already have their entire summers planned by now. I know I do.
