Engagement Pins!? / Hub Not Engaging

I got a rear hub and it doesn't engage at all, it only spins. Anyone know anything about what the problem may be? Another person recomended that it had something to do engagement pins, is this a common problem/ easy to fix?

what hub is it? have you opened it up to take a look inside yet?

I haven't opened it up, its a planet x ss rear hub. Also no grinding noise, it just doesnt grip.

hmm. so no egagement huh? well the pawls might have sipped out of their slots , but thats wierd that there is no noise. and that the hub spins just fine. i would open it up and see inside . what was it like before and did it just go bad instantly?

Is it a brand new or 2nd hand hub? take to a bike shop and see what they say.

Mine did that. Then I looked at it and it had exploded.

four massive cracks on the driveside, like you can basically see inside of the hub.

if youre riding outside, its possible that the grease has just thickened up so much it doesnt work, that happened to me once last year. its probaby not that cold yet, but try bringing it inside to warm up for a while if youre riding outside
