View Full Version : Alibongo
I have been working on the build-up of a Planet-X Alibongo frame I recently acquired. This is the latest photo of the configuration. I am planning on switching to a road cassette and short cage derailleur. This is going to be my more street-oriented bike.

odyssey junior seat?
ur bash ring is scary. if yur gonna make it streety than go single speed.
Well, I would like to have some gears to allow me to get to a spot, rather than living with 18/15 gearing wherever I ride. The saddle is light as hell, but just a bit more potentially useful than a mini seat.

Holy rotor's batman!! ;).....I would switch to a road cassette 11-21 or 23 and run a 105 road der. A smooth bashring might be a little more friendly to the city, but the Threshold?? will work. I think the alibongo makes a good all around fun bike. I actually woulden't mind building one for my urban bike also. My Fisher PHD weight's 36 lbs.

Problems:
Try all tire+street
Alibongo frame+street
seat angle=wtf?
holy diver that fork looks like its too long for that bike, the head angle looks hella raked out and the bb looks super duper high.
If I may:
I like riding street
Technically I can kind of ride trials
I can not do either *well* on one bike. You cant got fast enough to make most street tricks happen on a trials bike. Similarly a trials bike wont hold up to street abuse. Plus you cant ride trials on a street bike (not "real" trials anyway).
I hope you have fun that is the important thing, but I figured I'd give you feedback that is more useful that "no love."
