Do Any Of You Feel People Are Doing Themselves A Disservice By Starting Out On A Stock As Opposed To A Mod?

Conflicting Answers. The Mod Feels Like My Bmx (which I Am Extremely Comfortable On) But The Stock Gives Me More Room (and I Am A Big Guy), I Worry That The Stock Wil Not Be Strong Enough.

It really does come down to personal preference. I dont think anyone would do themselves a disservice starting on either one.

I'm Beginning To Like You More And More.

Everyone likes Rush.

I'm 6'2" and I always felt weird on a mod, but never cramped. I could ride it to my full potential, but I feel way more comfortable on a stock, and I have never felt limited by strength or size of a stock bike. I can go bigger on my stock bike, but that's my personal experience.

I think stock is more forgiving on your body, especially when you're not riding as smooth as you could be.

It is important to feel comfortable while riding. If you feel at home on a mod, get a long mod and ride it til it breaks.

i found that it was easier to learn the basics on my mod, but the stock is easier to ride because you can roll better? i suck on mods though:greddy:

I Am A Little Over 6'2" Not Much But As I Said, I'm Big. I Really Like My Czar, It Is Just Conflicting. I Quit Riding My Shocker And Went Back To A Bmx Because I Felt Like I Was Cheating. I Just Wanted To Make Sure I Was Not Doing The Same Thing Here. The Truth Is I Am Super Comfortable On My Czar, The Mod Just Felt More Familiar (if Thats Make Sense To Anyone, Let Me Know).

It makes sense to me.

If you have the money, buy a mod?

Doesn't make sense to switch to mod if you have no problems with stock.

Have you ridden a mod for a decent length of time? Or just on short rides?

it also kinda depends on the style your shooting for. mods tend to "look" more explosive when your watching them and stocks appear much more fluid. this is because of that rollover with the stock bikes. but you can have an explosive style or a rolling style other the opposite bikes. with a long wheelbase mod you may feel more cramped tho. but that is also something you may get used to. you will get used to what your riding no matter what. like i used to feel super comfortible on a bmx bike and could bunnyhop onto stuff waist height and felt way awkward on a mountainbike cuz of the stem. now you get me on a bmx bike i loop out like no other but put me on a mod and i feel totally fine cuz im stretched out. your muscle memory will come into play and learn whatever its being put to.

GOOD POINT. I HAVE ONLY RIDDEN MODS ON SHORT RIDES. NO ROUGH TERRAIN.

i started out on a stock, but when i busted a bunch of parts and couldnt afford to fix it, the only option for me was a friends old mod. after 6 months riding that, i managed to fix my stock bike but after a few rides, i felt that it seemed too slow and uncomfortable, so i switched to mod. just ride whatever you like.

Well, The Money Is Spent, So I Guess I Will Stay On The Czar For Now. The Mod May Come Later Though.
