You don't need a car to get to the riding spots, been out here for 13 years and I ride my mod bike to the spots.You can also take your bike on the train as well, Boston is pretty easy to get around without a car.Also, for any club you want to go to, you can take the train or the bus there.

That sounds like a better plan, check out Copley. There are a few nice hotels around there and there right in town. Or even better, check out some hotels off of Tremont street, its close to faneuil hall and there are a lot of bars and clubs around there to.Plus you'd be close to Government Center and China town and there is a lot of spots to ride out there.

Tremont st. would work well, your close to Boylston st., if you want crazy clubs,Landsdown street is the place to go.

OK kids.... I have two different Company's that approached me In reguards to sponsoring our little event and possibly a third (all praise the power of search engines!) One of them is a pretty big name in the MTB world and they said they would help out in whatever way they could , ......SOoooo any ideas from peeps for some sort of comp. would be baller so I can shoot them the details and hopefully get swag for prizes and such. I'm thinking regular taped off sections with a typical scoring system would be GAY! so we need something original and different.

And anyone that wants to get a hotel in the local area should prolly start doing some thinking about making reservations soon.. as things tend to start filling up quick with the tourist influx. And the camp ground has yet to write me back in reguards to a group area... But I need some numbers as far as people so I can nail it down a lil better for sites and get it reserved.

How about speed trials, but not head to head, just timed sections where the object is to get through as fast as possible. With some sort of time penalty arrangement for dabs.

how about a combination of speed trials, traditional and big move competitions. big move competitions would be like traditional trials except much shorter and based around one central move that's hard to pull off.
examples for big moves would be: taps, sidehops, big pedal ups, hooks, etc. but the section would contain 2-4 stunts(obsticles) and the big move would be centered.

beginners could also do big move competitions: 10 rear tire hops, trackstanding on a 2x4 or 2x6, or any of those little things that people are always trying to do when you first start out.

I've also been trying to think of a way to do like a freestyle trials. Like where you've got a big course and 2 minutes and you just rip it the best you can. Dabs wouldn't be dabs but would affect your overall score which would be based on: difficulty, style, originality, and execution(by firing squad of course)

^^^^Kinda sounds like a show i used to watch when i were a young lad, called kick start. Any other Brits on here remember that show???
It was a moto trials show for kids where the winner was the one with the lowest time..Time penalties were given for exceding the section time limit, dabs and also there were certain moves that had to be acomplised, like coming to a complete stop on a balance beam for 15 seconds again punishable with a time penalty.
Something like that could be pretty cool.....

Freestyle Trials would be cool I think, marked areas with huge rocks and lines, and the rider goes in and does his best to impress the judges.

Tape off a square section, put a 3 minute timer up and see who can wow the other riders the most...kind of like BMX park- maybe do 2-3 runs?

You then must ride a section consisting of a long loop or a shorter loop, the section is timed. The long loop is just a bunch of obstacles like a normal section set a lot easier than normal. The shorter loop is too, although if you choose to ride the shorter section you must stop at a tecnical drinking zone located at the side of the section and scull a beer. Once through the end of the section the watch is stopped.
The person who completes the race the fastest is the winner. First prize is another tequila hardman.

Option1:
Have everyone, or groups, start at the same time on their back wheel go through a fairly easy but long section without ever letting the front wheel down. Last one standing or first one through the section wins. Pushing, tapping, hitting and yelling at others are encouraged. Could see some interesting brawls on bikes go down.

Option 2:
Have teams of two people and beers in cans. One person is on the bike the other is drinking the beer. After the beer is drank the can is sat on the ground and the rider has to smash the can with their back wheel. First team to a certian number of smashed cans wins, or time it and whoever smashes the most at the end of time wins. Could also do tag team style where drinker and rider can switch up during comp.

Option 3:
Trackstand competition but do it while drinking a frosty adult beverage. Whoever drinks the most after said time wins, or last man standing idea. BTW, this would mean trackstanding one handed (unless you can drink with no hands).
