So here's the text for this awful deal these guys are trying to pawn off.......

"This sale consists of a complete lot of Monty Bicycle Parts.(What is a complete lot...(LIE!) Many will know Monty to be a leader in the world bicycle trials sport.(5-8 years ago?) Its many innovations have changed the shape of the entire cycling industry(BULLSHIT!!). For the United States, Monty has yet to develop its complete product line. (and they never will....) More information can be compiled from the company's website - www.monty.es The current inventory for sale in this lot consists of ALL products, parts and pieces from Cosmopolitan Motors "Cosmo." Cosmo was the original United States Monty importer.(but they got smart and got out of Monty bikes a few years ago) For 2006, there are two other importers. These are in addition to the importing rights I currently posses. At this time, those rights are not for sale.(And who wants them?) The sellers of this inventory have over thirty years in the franchise Powersports Industry (motorcycles, atv's, watercraft, scooters, ect...) The inventory was purchased to expand its current business offerings.(Someone pulled some BS on you guys brother!) However, necessary changes in the business plan have led to the wholesale liquidation of this inventory. (BS Language sayin' we couldn't get rid of it)The inventory was fairly current up to 2002/3. However, this is the complete inventory maintained in the decades that Cosmo imported Monty products.(So the parts/bikes could be up to 10-15 years old The inventory is what I would describe as "older-new." Most of the products are packed, yet expect scatches and dings as a part of the shipping process.(What?) The inventory has not been cataloged, so decribing the complete list of bicycles and parts will be difficult.( They don't even know what they have to sell!) However, when the inventory was shipped to us from Pennsylvania, it took up approximately one quarter of a semi box truck. (Meaning what??)There were six pallets stacked six to eight feet in height. The value of the wholesale inventory was estimated to be over $35,000.(By whom? That estimate is insane!) I DO NOT or AM NOT suggesting this to be exact.(or even close!) I say this because inventory can become stale and out-dated. (like this bunch of Monys) Alternately, older inventory that can't be found demands a premium.(straight out lie about trials parts!) It is up to the buyer to make his/their own estimates of the value.($500 tops!) This requires decernment by all parties interested.(Buyer be fucking aware) Your examination of the information provided by this add, matched with specific questions addressed to the sellers must be your guide. We make no specific claims about the items listed for sale. Our decision to purchase was based on this same limited information given to us by Cosmo.(htat's your own dum-ass fault!) We were quite pleased with what we received. By our valuatiuon, we could sell every piece for a few dollars (including complete bicycles) to exceed our required return on investment. (The you must be drunk!)The inventory is limited in its description, but are approximated as follows: 30 complete bicycles (boxed)- 20 inch free-style, track, & jump 10 complete bicycles (in various stages of assembly) Trials specific bikes 3) Stam 207 complete 2) Hydra 220 Frames 1) Hydra 220 (ridden in shop and on premise) 3) X-lite 231 Frames with head set & crank hub 1) Hydra 230 Frame with head set & crank hub 1) Magura Alp (?) (219) cable brakes PARTS CONSIST HEAVILY IN TRIALS CATEGORY, but are approximated as follows: You must check the associated pictures! 50-100 forks all sizes (disc, hydraulic, cable mount) 1) Large box of assorted cranks and pedals 1) Large box of stems (25 plus assorted) 1) Large box of brakes and brake parts 1) Large box of Hubs and Spokes (std and disc mount) 1) Box of grips 1) Pallet of assorted rims (alluminum laced and unlaced 20 & 26 inch) 1) Pallet of assorted tires (20,25,& 26 inch different terrain types) 1) Large assortment of tubes (many sizes packed in bulk, no individual boxes; box weight over 10 lbs.) 1) Large assortment of Free-wheels (crank and hub 50+) 1) Assortment of Derailers 1) Assortment of sprockets (include bolt on upgrade and chain links to convert trials sprockets) 1) Assortment Chains (various links) 1) Assortment of handlebars (steel and aluminum (mostly)) 1) Assortment of skid guards 1) Assortment of seats and seat posts 1) Assortment of stickers Additional parts exist- we will not take the time to individually assess all quantities. This list is not complete and vaugely accurate. Again, it is the responsibility of the interested parties to take this information, apply your best judgement; and bid accordingly. If you are suspect to the products being sold or the sellers, DO NOT BID! Read Ebay rules and regulations regarding the legal binding contract associated with auction involvement. Anyone interested has the option to view the products on location. We encourage and suggest prior viewing. This is a profitable business opportunity for anyone interested in investing the money and effort. Seller will package and arrange for shipping once funds have cleared/confirmed (continental U.S. only). Shipping costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. *Only if the Buy It Now! price is selected will shipping be included (continental U.S. only). Special note* Seller is not personally responsible for discrepancies. I have and will continue to give the very best information available.

This is the kinda crap that makes me pissed; outright lies aimed at uninformed people.........don't give 'em the time of day!

I think at 5K it might be possible to get money out of it, but that would require knowing the entire manifest of the parts.

David Weyman
12-14-2006, 02:15 PM
They're pretty vague on the manifest, they say it's up 2 U to figure that out. A lot of these are freestyle bikes from long ago. How much are they worth?

RomanC
12-14-2006, 02:23 PM
I think with maguras you can sell them for ~100. I think forks would go for 70~80. Stems/bars might not be good. The rest of the stuff is very hard to say unless one sells it very cheap.

The BMX and JUMP bikes are from 2002 - 03 and I get $150 and $195 for them. The ALP is $300 and it is the last one I have.
