I hate watching 14y old kids doing massive taps and sidehops with ease... Considering that they started riding trials one or two years ago - it's even more frustrating. Our sport developed a lot. It all became very powerful and technical (material, riding), but on the other hand it's all about huge drop gaps and stuff, which imho is more like a matter of commitment and determination, rather than technique. It's impressive, but so annoying and far away from the technical, natural riding of the 90s. For me it's hard to stay motivated and focused on my goals. Plus I shit my pants whenever there is a tricky/dangerous obstacle... then I'm like "no, thanks... my chain will snap and I'll die when I do this gap." :hs:
So it's basically my mind that puts me off the bike :dunno:

understandable. i hung up the whole "must go big" thing a while ago for the same reasons. bikes are still fun though- probably more fun when there isnt the pressure of having to do something bananas and just kicking it with some bros.

^I would agree. I got frustrated with biking as a whole. Massive liquidation occured, and than I was like damn I miss riding bikes.
