Hey guys... just putting this out there on the off chance that someone might have a bike to lend me for about 2 months to get to work and back...
I have lost my licence till mid January and Dave who gives me a lift to work cos he does kiteboarding lessons for us, is moving to Qld in a couple weeks...
Its about a 19km ride to work and id much rather ride than get a couple busses... so if anyone has a spare rigid singlespeed or commuter and would be kind enough to lend me their bike, it would be very appreciated!
Peace

I have something I can loan you. Currently running 44/23 but can be switched to 44/18 easily enough. mtb OK? I can put slicks on it.
This bike has history. Serious history. Do you have any SPD shoes?

Get on the fixie program Peace.....
I have an old roadie that runs quite nicely without spd's. I rode it to work for about 6 months. :dunno:
I would be happy to send it up to you if you want it. Its a full roadie though, not a whole lot of style about it. :dunno:

mine's a 1998 mongoose hardtail, rigid fork, v-brakes, white industries rear hub, ringle front hub, rhyno lite rear rim, raceface turbine cranks, middleburn chainring (!), Spot bashguard, Surly singleator. Oodles of late 90s charm.

yes. Yes you could. I'll keep the pedals. I'll be boxing up half of my bikes next tuesday or so. I'll ship it off to you then if that's OK. I have exams all this week and am on the cusp of failing all three of my subjects. Should probably stay out of the garage.
PM me the address you would love it sent to. 44/18 an OK gear?

OK got it.
in response to your question, my record commute time had me averaging 32km/h over 14km the other day, and I can average 23km/h over 100+km, so you should be able to do 19km in an hour as well as get changed/shower/jizz at the other end if need be.
