Well for my Rhetoric class at U of I I need to write a research paper. So.... I figured I would tie in trials. I would appreciate links to any sources or writings that you think shows either the evolution of the sport of trials riding, the evolution of the bikes, or how the sport has spread throughout europe, australia, canada, asia, and finally into the US. Any webpages or anything would be helpful.
Thanks
Dan

Have you bought Leaps and Bounds yet? It's a good start. There's been some good articles in past magazines, but nothing recently. It's hard to find accurate, in depth information on the internet because it's such niche sport and a lot of the history existed before the internet was widely used. There's a little bit out there though, like this page:

Yeah.... that's where I am running into the problems. It is very hard to get primary sources on trials riding. I talked to the T.A. though and she said I can probably get away with mostly secondary sources like the one above (hopefully). So much is learned by just talking to people..... but that doesn't wuite fly on a college paper. (And thanks.)

I know Lance Trapp is around on this Fourm ocassionally, maybe see if you can "email interview" him :dunno:
Otherwise yeah the videos are about the best secondary sources you'll find.

I've been in the US trials scene since 1993. I could talk your ear off and I'm a direct source. Also, Tim Williamson is an even better resource than me and he's a direct source.
Think.
