View Full Version : What frame to get?

I am new to trials riding. I've enjoyed watching the sport since I was in middle school in Japan, though at that time it was all moto trials (that was in the mid 70's after all!). I've got an older Norco Evolve (bent top tube, with seat). I don't plan to compete, and will probably ride mostly in urban settings.
I'm looking at replacing the frame with a stock frame that is a little more inspiring. From looking at some of the 'long vs. short' frame discussions I'm thinking I'll be looking for a standard (not long) frame in that magic 1065-75 range.
Suggestons?

I accept full responsibility for being over 40 and trying to 'fit in'. My intent was an homage to the skills, knowledge and insight you were going to impart. I guess I've been educated, though not in the way I'd intended.
Thanks.

I wasn't being an asshole, I just didn't have anything more productive to contribute.

why is it that new users have no sense of humour? This is a sport for children Evan. You're more than welcome, but you have to be prepared for childish behaviour.

on topic, it sounds like you're after the bike formerly known as the koxx levelboss. Now marketed as a Yabaa I think.

Thanks. I just went through a major "what bike to buy" analysis. So many frames, so many specs, so much to consider. I decided on a Simtra, but it is 1080mm wheelbase which is on the long side. I'm 6'1" and riding natural, so 1080 sounded good. You will probably want to go shorter.

I have a XLS that I put together to make it easy to compare specs. I'd be happy to send to you if you PM your email address to me. It won't tell you what bike to buy, but it will make it easy to compare head angles, BB height, wheelbase, and a few other factors.

Might as well add a couple irrelevent emoti's! :coold: :coold:

Your XLS interests me too !And it will interest all the people looking for a new bike...
Could you make a new thread, please ?
Thanks

Sorry to be out of the thread so long. I am a teacher and we had conferences all week.
Now about my supposed lack of humor:nono: I think someone was being a little too touchy and thinking that old farts can't dish it out too.
I do appreciate the ejumakashun, though I really have no idea about either the emoticons or your stfu's etc. (though I think I can make an educated guess)
I think it is trying new things that keeps us young at heart and feeling alive. My hat is off to the skills I see on the vids and pictures you post.
Keep riding... even after you hit puberty.:Wavey:
