well i mean it was a good idea untill she got mad and took it out on me :ugh2:

haha anyways she did pretty well for her first ever time riding trials.
she skates so she has some idea of weight transfer and what not

Since should couldnt get the bike to a complete stop right away she was just doin nose wheelies wich was sweet too but she got them in the end
Id say she did pretty danm good for her first time trying this kind of shit on a bike.
shes thinkin of ditchin her board and goin straight into riding :)

what are people's thoughts about girlfriends/wives/others and trials?

to me it seems like a bad idea. but I'll explain why.

Trials to me is a way of venting, so you have problems with the estrogen, you go fuck around on the bike.. plus its healthy to have one activity away from her that you can escape to. she starts getting involved with trials, there goes your "serenity now!" so to speak.

I mean, you share spit, but you have to share trials..

what do people think?

p.s. I'm single, so what do I know....

It depends on how good the gf gets. I am guessing that not too many women will fully get into trials. So even if they can do some stuff on the bike, once in a while, its not like you have to now go on every ride with them.

And even if they want to get better, and are serious about it, I think it is even better.

Oh, btw, if a girl would get really good at riding, I am sure she wouldn't want to always ride with a guy either. Everyone has alone time...

partly agreed. If i wanna get away ill just say so. No need to have something (be it trials or whatever else) to use as an excuse.

Riding trials works for Ryan Leech and his woman, right? :dunno:

yeah this is really nice , good for you! if she likes it try helping her as much as you can but don't push her if she doesn't really like it.

I had a girlfriend not quite long ago that really loved trials. At first she enjoyed so much just watching me and then she couldn't resist riding my bike so I started teaching her the basic stuff and for my surprise she was really giving 100% cause as I said before she did really loved trials:)
she actually started making plans of buying a trials bike and it sounded great but never got to that part cause bad things happend like...breaking up.

anyway it's fun to see her riding and I for one really loved to see her trying as hard as she can and me stating aside and encourage her :)

im totally of the "women suck right now so I'm gonna go ride and let off steam" mentality, so i dont think i'd like a riding gf

It's probably personal preferences like anything else, but I and many others think it's best not to bring your life partner into your beloved riding. I ride BMX also, and like many of my riding friends (I know tons more BMXers than Trialers that's why I use this example) I wouldn't want my girl to ride with me since it's my "guy" thing and when you ride with a girl in the group it's not the same as when you're just boys. Riding is my woman-free sanctuary and I wouldn't want to change that, even though it's nice to have a girl that shows some interest and can come to a comp/jam and not complain after 15 minutes.

I know a guy who has the complete opposite as his girlfriend rides BMX with him, and they follow each other everywhere since they almost don't do anything else than ride, but it seems to work fine for them...

Trials is for guys.

I dont want it to become one of those sports where women think they can rule us.Like at mechanic school.Theres always one girl there who thinks shes better then you and you end up loosing it on her and then she faces reality and cries.And then you feal bad for about half a minute and then tell yourself she infact indeed asked for it.

Seriously I agree with manimal.No one of my close friends ride.So its my way of 100% escape.I woud never be able to deal with a gf non stop talking about trials and how good shes getting.Im just like that.Like talk about girly shit not fucking biketrials.

Very cool. When she is not pregnant my wife can do wheelie drops, but she doesn't do endos yet. Going to have to work on that this January.

my girls skates as well
and we had no prob skating / riding together
but she took a few bad spills and killd the ankle
but she realy seems to be happy on the bike.
we had a great time doing riding together ,
but ill keep posted if i lose my nuts :weak:

i have to way it is a little wierd having noone close to me know what the fuck i do with half my time. I have some other local riders (JamesB, his bro paul, and marty) which helps, but whenever i meet someone and they get to know me and eventually find out what i do i have to explain it for soooo long and noone gets it!!

That being said anyfriend outside of biking that has been interested in just watching me and nothing else gets me kinda annoyed...they don't know what it takes to do anything. I could pull off some huge move that doesn't look to impressive and they wouldn't bat an eye. So if i had a girl who was interested she would have to be into it before i got to he me thinks...

Yeah that one looks awesome.:bowdown: They look very fun.

I have very few people around me that ride trials. I think it would be great if my GF showed intrest in trials, it would be like a riding buddy. I have tried to convince her to ride but she doesn't want to..:wtc:

Just teach her on a road bike or something and when she asks why your bike looks different just reply "oh you can ride trials on anything..." within a week she'll get frustrated and be like "ohh, it's too hard, but your soo good at it and thats hot." and then screw like rabbits.
