Hello,

as I read in another thread, some riders are interrested in a 26" Creepy Crawler.
On the following forums :
trials-forum.co.uk (english) (http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=85627)
mtb-news.de (german) (http://www.mtb-news.de/forum/showthread.php?t=246327)
espacetrial.com (french) (http://www.espacetrial.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5765)
some members sent already a mail to Maxxis in order to obtain these tyres.

Maxxis Creepy Crawler 20" tyre:

Indeed Maxxis answers that :
if more people started requesting these tyres Maxxis maybe start smaking them
So all you guys who want 26" CC´s send maxxis a mail:
Use this on line formular, please (http://www.maxxis.com/contact_us/comments.asp) (http://www.maxxis.com/contact_us/comments.asp)

It takes only a few seconds.

i asked them to make a 26 version back when they were prototyping the 20's and they said that there wasnt much need for them to make it since they already have so many 26 tires to choose from. the minion dhr works fine for so many riders that it doesnt justify the expense of making another mold for a creepy in 26.

i doubt they will listen to a few incoming emails but it doesnt hurt to try.

I sent an e-mail as well. I'd pay $80 for a set of tires. I loved that tire design on my mod...My stock would love them as well.

I asked them for stickers once and they actually sent some to me. They actually read their emails.

i wonder if they just used like a high roller tread pattern with the same durometer as the creepy crawler. i don't know much about making tires but I would think they could use the same mold and just use creepy crawler type rubber.

the creepy is just the super tacky 42a compound.

there isnt much special about the creepy's tread pattern. it was really more that they came into a market full of really shitty tires in the 20" world. their 26" tires are fine the way they are. unless there is a huge wave of incoming demand, they have no reason to make a 26" version of the creepy than to give us a cosmetic trials specific tire for stock bikes.

they replied to my email and said that tons of their forum users have requested these... they didn't really seem against the idea of making them. we may see them in the future!

It also looks liek the creepy uses a different casing (25 tpi for the rear one vs 60 for the minions) - I wonder if that'd help make the tire a little more 'stable'.

Anon.

I really hate the casing on the Creepy Crawler to be honest. It just isn't at all predictable, I found it super hard to get a pressure that made the rebound at all predictable but wasn't like riding solid tyres. I'm just not super keen on them, and to be honest, the 26" range seems to pretty much own anyway.

Oh, and you may wanna ask Maxxis to provide some sorta pinch protection on the 26" CCs if they make them, seems they forgot on the 19s :p

I think that it is an okay idea. There are so many other tires, and brands that adding 1 tire to their line up would not make a big difference.

Maxxis is the biggest rip off tire. The are decent, but the Try-all is a much better value at almost half the price. For 20", Monty tires are better than CC for mod bikes if you want to spend that kind of money. I'd be interested to know if Comas even runs them (maxis) anymore. The new Monty is way more stable, better compound, treadpattern, sidewall, etc.

the generation of prototypes before the production version was the best tire for trials ive ever ridden, 20 or 26. i wonder who really wanted it "a little lighter"...?

Yeah, Try-alls 26" tires are a LITTLE cheaper then the Maxxis26", but Creepy Crawlers are like $5-10 less per tire then the Try-alls.

in estonia, i can get a pair of creepy crawlers at about ~60$, while mod try-all sticky's are ~100$, and while sticky's are extremely nice tires(i rode them on my python for the whole summer, and just now changed to creepy crawlers because i needed new tires and they were cheaper) and i must say that creepy crawlers are extremely nice tires for the money.

100 USD for a fcking tyre? :eek3:

Maxxis are 30-35, tryall 55 USD here, just for comparison.

edit: ok, i see "pair"...

Maxxis tires soom to be cheaper eveywhere else except Canada. Retail on a minion is $80. You are right though, the crawlers are much cheaper.

I too, have had this discussion with the people at Maxxis. Kevin summed it up. Making a mold for another tire isn't justified when the Minion, Highroller and Mobster work just fine in the same compounds.

For those that are looking at the thread count, the 25 tpi range can be found on the Minion DHR ST Tubeless version. Some of us have used this tire, and noticed a difference, in a good way.

It doesn't hurt to try and ask.

I was gonna say. I definitely payed $60 CAD for my Minion, whereas getting a Try-All would've been easily $80.
