Well, I've been wanting to try a mod for a little while now... but it just HAD to be dual disc... Then a few of these little beauties arrived and I couldn't resist!
The brakes and pedals were nicked from my Simtra (don't worry, that will go back together soon!) and there's a few other parts from Dave's GU on there too...

Let us know what you think after the first ride
I thought that the advertised WB on montys was understated?? I thought they were actually around 1010

That looks very nice. I always liked the look of mods especially the DD ones but they always make my back hurt...

yes it is, monty measures the wb from the rear hub to the headset or something, not really sure
but the wheelbase is indeed something 1010 with those forks on
anyway, really nice :bigthumb:
i'm getting mine tomorrow, but then with the standart parts on :(
i'm almost sure that the PR is going to be the best selling trialsbike ever, already seen so many people who are planning on buying one
tell us how it rides when you had a nice ride on it :)

Will do!
They're advertised as around 945mm I believe, but it's definitely 995 with these forks and headset. The full build 221 Pr is 1000mm with the 221 Pr forks.
Thanks!

High stems are the way forward! I wanted higher for myself but the Onza T-Masters are out of stock :(

I find personally that high stems are not that great if you ever compete or ride natural. In some places you can't even do a wheel switch as the stem is in your nuts. Although maybe on mods it is not as dramatic.

Bike looks amazingly beautiful, one question, does it ride better than Monty Ti 05?

i have a monty 221 PR 07 too so i guess i could awnser..
it's very light and flickable, never ridden alot of different bikes accept for a zoo python and a monty 221 x-lite, and its lighter than both of those :)
didnt weight it myself but the monty catalogue sais that it weights 9400 gram

9400g is about right, however that is without pedals. My bike is around the same, maybe a little heavier.
I haven't ridden the '05 Ti personally, so I can't comment...
I also came over to post these pics too, just got some brakes on test from Hope and thought you'd like to see:

What's the real difference between this and the Ti? The frame material or what was it?

the PR frame accepts regular headsets(like CK nothreadset, FSA Pig or whatever) but the TI version only accepts some crazy internal FSA heatsets, the material should be different, and the 07 PR has 4bolt mounts, the TI version is dualdisc only. also the TI frame has a way cooler bash...
as for the whole bike - the full 221ti bike has titanium everywhere, ti spokes on one side of the wheel on both wheels, ti bolts, lighter rims, lighter stem and bar if i remember correctly, isis bb/cranks while the PR had 4bolt and so on. but still - the 221pr is still probably the best bang for buck biketrials bike on earth

You are cheaper! :greddy:
Seriously, seems like the Pr is a good buy then. It's not like my biggest desire is to have titanium parts, even though it might make the bike a little lighter. I have quite an urge to test a dualdisc mod bike... what a wonder never having to grind the stupid rim!! :bigthumb:
