Hey everyone, so I have been building up a bike but in reading about various parts, etc I keep seeing frame names coming up and was curious which frames are used for what and why you'd prefer one over the other (especially what the difference in the Echos is). Which frames are for what styles/skill levels?
I've googled a lot of this but as you know so much of the discussion is filled with bantor that it is hard to sort through it.
So that frames I'm wondering about are the names that I keep seeing:
Echo Control
Echo Hifi
Echo Pure
Zoo Pitbull
Adamant A1
Czar Ivan
GU Typhoon
Thanks!

I don't know much, but the adamant has a really high bb which people tend to dislike. BB height is something to consider.

My understanding is that a high BB is good for when you are up on the rear wheel but it may not be the best thing if you do a fair amount of mixed / urban riding....maybe this is not totally correct though.

Each bike has a slightly different geometry which is based loosely around wheelbase length and bb height.
There has been lengthy discussion on here about the merits of a high bb.
Some people think that a high bb is good for bunnyhops, others think the opposite.
One constant, is that they do feel more stable on the rear wheel.
Depending on the individual, this can be a bad feeling for their style.
If you are beggining, and have come from mtb's, I would say it may feel better to start on a lower rise bike (Pure's have nice geo IMO). Also, after a rush to go out and buy high bb bikes, alot of riders seem to have gone back to favouring mellow-er bb rises.
As far as what bike is good for what, well you could argue that short bb bikes are good for urban (flickable etc) and long bb bikes are good for natty. But again, it really depends on ther rider.
Echo Pure, is more of a comp frame.
Echo Control is an all round bike. (I have one, it rides well but is a little heavy for my liking.)
Echo Hifi is a high bb bike, aimed at the market for consumer testing????
the only bike you want in that list is the echo control. unless you absolutely know youre going to love having a extremely high BB, the control is the best riding frame echo or any of its sister companies has ever made. it takes the right person to enjoy a frame like hte hifi, adamant, gu, etc. and from what ive seen, some people who try these frames try to stick with them becuase they do have their advantages, but most go back to riding what thye had before or somthing similar.

Yeah I've gathered that most people love the Echo control and if in the future I buy a new frame I'll probably go that route. But then am I right in assuming that the Echo Pure, the A1, the GU, and the pitbull are all similar style bikes with very high BB's? Then the Control is sort of in it's own category? I take it then too that the Echo control is good for a nice mix of urban / natural?

actually the pure dosnt exist as a pure, the geometry is the same and now are control this controls come with 4 diferente geometries and are lighter and resist a lot more, all the new model comes with diferent geometries the new pitbull comes as a long with high bb/ long with low bb/ short with high bb and short with low bb.... so you have a lot of options on one model i thinks this is great, and i wonder what geo is using neil and craig:run:
