It's fine. You can't extend your legs because the bike is too long for you.

maybe get a shorter stem? it looks like you're using a tryall mod stem on a very long wheelbase bike..

I can't comment too much because pedal ups are the vane of my exsistence..

Youre doing it fine. You just need to get your momentum up enough to carry you over the top.

Hit the lip with some speed.

exactly. you'll notice that when the pro do pretty high ups. they don't always have a huge run up so they pedal like hell. I've also found that if because of the situation you can't get enough speed. try to jump as to keep the rear tire the same but with the front tire lower. that'll sort of pull your weight over the bike. then you just pull the front back up with you.

Your problem could be earlier in the move and not at the end placement. Your approach is important, is this a 2-pedal or 3-pedal up for you or are you coasting into it? A little more detail would help.

This question is partly for my benefit and maybe others will benefit from this also but should the front tire be leaving the ground on the first pedal stroke?

no, just the last bad/good stroke

i think that might be the right stem for him, that frame has some mega ridiculos rise, like 70mm or something

It depends on how high you're going, and the terrain, and it's also a personal preference thing. If you do it enough times, you'll get the feel for when you like to lift the front. I'd say I lift the front (if I'm doing a one stroke!) when my bad foot is at the top or the stroke, and my good foot is at the bottom. It is very important you not that I say one stroke, meaning I start from a stop, then one full stroke and up. The timing is different depending on how fast/number of strokes you're doing.

Okay I know this isn't the best example of a pedal up, but I taped myself to get pointers, if you see areas for improvement, please let me know, this is from stationary, 3-pedal.

you did everything really nicely, but in the end left the front wheel a wee bit too low. what you have to do is try to get the front wheel up higher during the last stroke(when you get your rear wheel off the ground) so you'd land on the picnic table on your rear wheel, and stay on the rear wheel. ofcourse in the beginning it will feel like you just land on the picnic table on your rear wheel and then fall backwards, to counter that you need to move your body a bit more forward during the last pedalstroke. so you lift your front up higher to land on the rear wheel and in the same time move your body forward a bit to avioid looping out. sounds weird but i hope you can understand what i'm trying to tell.

makes sense to me, thanx i will try this next time!! at what height will be god to start tapping?? i found that tapping is easier on low obstacles 50-60cm on my mod than my stock, maybe for the geo, mod short and stock long

excellent advice, takes some getting used to being that low, with the bike almost above you.

You didn't preload at all. Before you jump, you should bend your knees, just like a normal jump, and then shoot up. You tucked pretty decently at the top, so I wouldn't worry about that part until you get the preloading down.

Start tapping at around 90cm
