Jst wonderin if any one has drilled out the valve holes on on a sun singletrack rim? It has those small valve holes and i wanna run normal valves. Does any one know what size drill aswell? Any help would be great.

Yeh it'll be fine.
Not sure of drill size but have a look at the valve and measre it up against a suitable drill bit.

Drill it out, just don't overdrill. You'll be fine, I've done it many times.

I think 8mm is the size you need, up from the 6mm presta valve hole. It's fine to do. Only avoid it on super skinny road rims.

Why drill for schreader? Presta isnt "un normal" its the standard drilling for most higher end mountain rims. (accept mavic which comes with adapters) I find presta easier to work with.

I agree. The only benifit of Shrader is that you can pump your tires up at a gas station.:weak: Other than that Presta is fine. last time I checked the tubes were the same price too.....

presta tubes have a slightly higher cost price, but the retail price is probably the same. I prefer schraeder tubes on mtb/trials/wide rim road bikes because all pumps can do schraeder, whereas only about half can do presta. Schraeder valves can be filled at a petrol station, with any foot pump/hand pump/bike pump/ball pump/compressor and are easier to put sealant into.
But they are a touch heavier.

I always prefer shraeder. But thats just me. Ive drilled out plenty of rims, its no big deal.

just take a round file to it for a little bit. Won't take long. I also prefer schraeder.

I don't have a preference either way, but if I flat on a ride and my buddy only has a spare schrader, I'd make damn sure my rim could fit it.
