Hey guys whatsup. I have to make a logo for my computer graphics class, and I figured I would make an observed trials . net one. Any ideas on what I should put in or how it should look? Any help is welcome. Maybe someone will even be cool and put it on shirts, I've always wanted a trials shirt, or maybe I'll just make one for myself. :X I was thinking of maybe two bikes backhopping towards the big OTN in the middle, or something. Fuck, I dunno. Help me out. If you guys that run the site like it, I'll let u use it for your website, it's cool with me.

I'm thinkin, a bike on the rear wheel, the rear wheel is O. The T and N are one letter (so the left line of N is a part of T). And O and T are joined together. I dunno if you get what I mean, hell, it might be easier to make it and show you. Anyhoo, have fun.

create it as vector art (illustrator file). you'll be able to use it in all printing applications like t-shirts, mugs, whatever.

My Imagination sucks ass. I like the idea of the backwheel being the O. I Might do something along the lines of that. And yeah, I'm free hand drawing it, then loading it into macromedia freehand, outlining it, then loading it into photoshop and creating positive, negative space, maybe silouhette it in front of the background, make it look good. Smooth the edges of the text,add texture to text and make it stand out. I hope it wont look :greddy: I want a shirt of this. :X

There needs to be some distiction that the back wheel is an O. IT just looks like a biker jumping on TN. it has potential, but not there yet.

A two-colour logo should do nicely. The rider is white (not unlike most actual riders) and the logo is whatever colour. I'll make a mockup sometime maybe.

I'm not happy with it. I'd prolly like to spend some time tweaking the colours, the stroke sizes, cleaning up the rider illustration, etc. I think it's not quite right, but I dunno what exactly is the reason for that. Anyhoo, any comments would be appreciated.

I was thinking something of: a ledge on the left (cement) with a big O on top of it , a bench in the middle, but have the whole picture a different color, a bike balancing on the rear wheel on the bench, but make the bench somewhat 3d, the front o fthe bench will look like a T, which will be in a different color aswell as the O and N, the righ tside of the pic will have another cement ledge, with an N on top, they will be tweaked around so it looks good, and isnt too close or far away. Make it like a street trials pic, but with O T N sticking out in a bold color. Any comments? I'm going to draw it up in a bit.

You're right about the illustration needing cleaned up. It's kinda cool from a concept standpoint, but viewed full size...I didn't like it. Also, a bit too much of a '70's vibe. The style Reminds me of the logo for the old Gold Circle stores, ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_Circle )

Just one example of what you could do with it, think out of the box man.. this is what i came up with real quick, dont take the idea or logo, but use it as inspiration or something. Theres so many possibilites, if your really serious about excelling in your design class I suggest you do a lot more research and start browsing the web for ideas.. go to http://www.hydro74.com to start theres so much out there man just be creative

I'm done. Drawing it that is. Let me explain it. I'll see if i can scan it in right now. its only a pencil drawing tho.


Its in an even square. the "O" is a bike rim and tire, with a disk brake on it.

The "T" is the front like... part of the frame where the headset goes, a short stem and handles bars make the T, there are grips on it, and brakes on each side of the handlebars with the brake lines spiriling around the headset part of the frame.

Here is my favorite part. The "N", is a Pedal. I'm not happy about the design of the pedal , it looks weird, but I'm gonna change it, but inside the pedal Is a big N as the support, and the whole pedal has pins on it, including on the N.

observedtrials.net is on the top, with a underline and a tornado squiggle going down to the handlebar...

Matty's Logo is perfect. Everyone here knows what OTN is but noone else will. This logo makes you see the lettering first and then it makes you look at the logo. Might even draw the attention of motorcycle trials riders into a conversation.
