I'm not sure when some official postings will be up but I figure I'll start the rumours. I wasn't actually there so this is all what I've heard.

Webster got beat at the final cpta event by the Japanese mod rider that is going to school in Cali I believe? He got a 13 and John got a 19. Both could have ridden a little better from what I hear. To put the comp in some sort of perspective the dude is last years senior biu champ I think? Ahead of Keita or whatever? Has also beaten Gilles Coust I was told? Who knows. Its all second hand info. He also placed 7th at this years worlds with a score of 15 apparently. Not far off his middle of nowhere BC points.

Dave Herr was the section setter, or one of them anyways, and was probably the most stoked aboots his "elite" section he called it. He finally made something John 5'd both times and the Japanese dude got a 5 and a 3 on.

I guess I should find the mod riders name at least...

Masashi Ishiguro

Maybe Dave or Mike can get in here with some facts instead of my ramblings. I figured I would speed it up.

I heard people were running around with some cameras too. Be interesting to see some of that footage. Webster is a pretty pure uci style and this guy is a an overseas biu rider. Be cool to see the different techniques and ideas used to ride the same crap.

I will post the results tomorrow sometime but officially it was
1. Masashi Ishiguro 13 pts
2. John Webster 19 pts
3. Jeff Anderson 39 pts

Masashi was slightly better. As Brett said they both could have rode a little better. One of Masashi's 5's was on the very first obstacle in the first section which he easily cleaned second time around. John also made a couple of mistakes he doesn't usually do. I think the main difference between the two was Masashi coming off 4 very competitive world rounds and John basically only doing the local rounds here which are very good but its just not the same as riding with the worlds best for a month straight. Dave Herr had a tough comp as he had bike trouble on the very first section and dnf'd. The 2 pro sections Dave set on the rocks were quite difficult. The second one (#6) was definitely BIU Elite level. Masashi made it thru with a 3 on the second lap with about a half second to spare. John was near the end with much more time left but ended up 5'ing near the finish. It was very cool watching the two of them. There seemed to be lots of spectators and they all were very appreciative....lots of appplause...
Masashi now wants to move here to go to school! He said he definitely will come to more of the local events here next year.
