good is a very vague term...what are you wanting to do. i personally dont know but tell us what you are gonna be doing. do you ride natural or urban? are you a new rider?

i have had no experience with this bike. but the company is solid. i have a zoo! Python and its amazing in reguards to craftsmanship. i have seen a few older videos of riders on it.seemed decent. if you are wanting a zoo id say get the python. but if your wanting that weird top tube thing get a newer monty. unless you have found a lynx you can get. i thought there were discontinued

Also whats the point of the werid Monty-x style top tube? Looks like its angled to go right up your ass when you crouch.

I remember that was the bike I was going to get as my first "trials bike" but then ended up with a monty that was cheaper. that didn't last too long either.
I know in its day those bikes were pretty popular. but like its been said before.. jump on it and try it out.
you'll find with any bike in trials, you'll learn to like and dislike things about any frame. and after while you'll probably get something else anyhow.
but for $350.. thats alright.. maybe talk them down a bit since its so old.

So its not worth $350+? What price is too high?

$350 could very well be a decent price for it...it depends on the parts spec list.
i paid $550 for my 100% stock monty for my first bike. once you start riding trials quite a bit you will definately notice certain parts of the gemoetry on the bike that you would like to change. it didnt take me long and i decided i wanted a higher bottom bracket...and now im building a new bike up. i only got my monty back in march, so it doesnt take long to want an upgrade to bigger and better things.
Sounds fine for $350,
Check out what sort of cranks, bars, pedals, rims, tyres are on the bike and let us know.
I would probably go for it as a first bike.

Zoo fork
Echo crankset
Pazzaz stem
Echo rims front/back
Echo hubs
Echo 7075
Good setup?
For $350, pretty damn good.
Offer $300 because of its age just to see if they will go lower. But it sounds like a good deal to me.
Check the welds at chainstays, seatstays, bottom bracket and headtube to make sure there are no cracks before you buy.

Why would you offer more? Anyway. My roomate still rides this bike. It's definately old school. Zoo's monty rip off but by no means bad. For 350 its a steal i'd say.

I did, kinda. To find it on ebay you had to search "Trial bike" not "Trials bike"

Damn. A new frame and that bike is looking good.
That is steal for $250 man. Good stuff!
A perfect bike to learn on, absolutely perfect. As carnagr said, change the frame over in a year or so and youll be set.

regarding work on the bike, maggies are tough to set up when you don't know what you're doing. I took my bike to the same shop 3 times and they still didn't do it right. I wanted my money back, I only took it to them so they would bleed them for me. I'm lazy, but they hadn't a clue, I was so mad.Save yourself the work and learn to do it yourself or get a friend who knows how to teach you.

$250's a bargoooooonn... congrats on the bike man. you'll have fun on it no doubt.
once you start workin on it, it'll be like second nature for you to fix. just get a nice set of allen wrenches, and don't be afraid to explore stuff.
