Tarty bikes carries The Hope trials disc in 180mm version, Webcyclery only has 160mm. Anyone have any experience with both? or at least some advice. Think the 160mm version would be enough? I'd certainly rather go with the 160 from Webcyclery if it worked just as well, so I wouldn't have to pay a shitload of shipping. Anyone in the US/North America carry the 180mm version?

you talking about the whole brake or just the rotor? did you try tim and www.trialsin.com (http://www.trialsin.com) for the whole brake?
or www.jensonusa.com (http://www.jensonusa.com) for the rotors

I am talking about the whole brake, I assume you would need some sort of adaptor using a 180 with the 160 brake, doesn't really sound worth it that way. Oh yeah, should have tried Tim before this, oops.

Try other options first. But I would go the extra to get the 180. Don't get the 160 and then change rotors. Won't work - different calipers.
Better power with 180....I'm assuming you're riding stock?

I am. It sounds like I need to go with the 180mm. Just need to find one.

Just get a adaptor then, I have a 160 caliper with 180 rotor, works fine.
Hope has enough power with a 160 mm rotor. And less chance to bend it.
If you change from 160 to 180, it is only about 10 percent difference between the diameter and of course the power.

160 vs 180 is about 12% more power. It's your choice if the extra money is worth it or no, but I'd go for the 180 one.
