Since I switched to a stock from a mod, I can't get to manual or bunny hop without really throwing myself back hard.
Do I need a shorter stem?
I'm 5 11". The stem is 100mm

There is a big difference between stock and mod. It took me a week to get comfortable on my Zebdi from a mod. I have an 80mm stem. I was hoping if I went up to a 100 that it would be easier.

What angle do you have your handlebars positioned at? if you have them tilted forward them try tilting them back as this instantly puts you in a better position to pull the front end of the bike up at speed due to:
Your bike feel that fraction of a bit shorter
Your shoulders will be set higher due to you putting rise on the bars which instantaneously makes the front end of the bike easier to pull up at speed. This may or may not help or apply to you (i.e. if you already have your bars in a 'normal' position rather then tilted forward slightly), but if it does then it saves you having to spend money on a new stem as yes, a shorter stem will make your bike easier to pull up due to it making your bike feel shorter.

I am just learning aswell.
Bend your knees and stick your butt behind the rear wheel. Then in one motion pull back on the bars and straighten your legs. After a few trys you will get a feel for it.
Or to just coast on the rear wheel, just get behind the rear wheel and pull up on the bars.

with longer bikes you really have to exaggerate the motion to bunnyhop. lean back farther than you would ever have done on the mod. once you get your front wheel high enough, the back will come up fairly easy.
just lean as far back as your comfortable with, then after a while it will feel normal.

Try learn it down a slight hill. I used to( still do really ) do 1 pedal stoke at the top, to get my front wheel and body weight in the correct position and then volla, you are manualing. It helped me suss the ballance part, although im still crap at then on my limo sized bt.
* p.s. a shorter stem may help but it'll throw you off on other moves. I had a 90x10 on my norco tt with riser bars and it was just right. Im also 5'11. Just my opinion.
