Anyone know what chain size the ENO trials works with? Or im more simple terms: bmx/track or MTB 9spd

Anything you want. I have run mtb 8spd, 9spd in the past with no problems, and have been running a bmx chain for about a year now with no problems.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the only difference between the chains listed the width? As in the bmx chain is thicker than a 9 speed mtb chain, but the spacing between the links is the same in both.

Anyways I currently run a 9 speed chain on my ENO and I've seen a bmx chain run on one. Both worked without any trouble.

the only difference between 3/16", 1/8", 3/32", 8 speed, 9 speed, ten speed chains are the inner and outer widths respectively. The pitch (pin to pin distance) is a half inch in all cases.

Exceptions to this rule are very old bicycle-specific chains which were a 1" pitch, or shimano's curious 10mm pitch track groupset of the 1980s.

To answe the OP, you may have trouble trying to match SS components with 9 speed chains. They often have a too narrow inside width and can gall and skip on the sprockets/freewheels/chainrings. Better off using 8 speed (3/32") chains.

While I applaud your knowledge of the bicycle drivetrain, you have forgotten one chain type: nanodrive.

I'm really not sure what any widths mean or anything so could I use my shadow halflink chain with an eno and probably wouldn't have any problems?
