View Full Version : Where are all the trials T-Shirts?

I've looked and can't find any t-shirts that clearly promote our sport.
I know you can get the odd parts supplier shirt, but it's not really clear what it's about.
Is trials so easily confused with other sports?

www.webcyclery.com (http://www.webcyclery.com) has some biketrials.com ones. talk to andyt aka moment designs on here. I'm pretty sure he sells them. I haven't seen a store for him online but I know I'm seen vids with people wearing that stuff. pretty slim selection though.
www.momentdesigns.com (http://www.momentdesigns.com) i think that's his site

Those links are to great sites, (But they don't seem to have many trials related shirts... maybe 1 or 2)
You are right... it is hard to find any t-shirts that have pictures of people riding trials on them. My advice is to start making some on Photoshop and start selling that's what I was gonna do, but I'm too busy at the moment.
I do recall seeing a BT shirt with a trials rider on it.

You can use any image at all.
I was really hoping to use a pic from trashZen but I cant seem to find the dude that runs it. Not that ive tried that hard.
I want to use this pic:
http://www.observedtrials.net/otn3/gallerymehdi14.jpg
Except have it cropped so it shows the top of the wall and is a bit more skinny. Then have it printed on the front of a white shirt.

I'd wear one. Print them on size 2T and I will put my boy in one.
Thats a great idea. I will put mine in one too! :)
Of course I wont be doing anything without the permission of the designer. I was considering putting OTN or observedtrials.net somewhere there as well.
I have no idea.

I'm taking graphics this semester at school. My main reason for taking it is so I can make sweet trials t-shirts. If/when I do I'll post pics. Anyone have any ideas for other designs/pictures for a shirt?

I know there are lots of people out there making shirts, probably the best of which is moment designs. Biketrials.ca sells them, biketrials.com as well. Awhile ago I thought of making some shirts. Here's one of the graphics. I have a friend who can do the screening, what do you want on the shirts? Let me know and we'll play with a few designs. I was thinking of doing somthing with brakeboosters like what koxx has on their site with the x-rays.

Right, that's precisely what I was thinking of most branded T-shirts, and that's why I decided to add something extra at the back of my new long sleeve Ts.
Ok, that's a clear promotion for TrashZen (but that's a non-biased starting point for someone curious about the sport, you don't have to ride koxx or monty) and the warning on the back mentions clearly Trials Rider, so that we don't get confused with BMX or Freeride stuff. :x:
http://www.trashzen.com/php-tshirts-10thanniversary.php
I reckon it makes it plain obvious what the sport is even to passers-by...
Well, that's the aim.

I will have to dig through my archives, but there used to be a shirt back in the day that had a side drawing of a Mod bike and a BMX, and compared the 2.

I might screenprint some tshirts if I ever get around to it. I can get all the screenprinting supplies I would ever need for very little cost.

Dude straight mean muggin the camera.
That trialsprod.com one is definitely wearable, the problem is I'm not paying over 30 bucks for a T-Shirt.
Trashzen one is dece, I'll have to look into that.
And for the love of god, if someone on here starts making shirts, make sure you use Standard American as your shirt. Gildan, Oneita, Fruit of the Loom, The Cotton Exchange all fit so god damn goofy I won't even buy that shit. Standard American is the only T-Shirt that fits proper.

I happen to have one from back in the day, it's stil in my t-shirt pile somewhere. I think making a trials t-shirt is a great idea, I've though about doing it for a while now.I minds well put my 4 + years of art school to good use.Throw down some color schemes,images,landscapes..etc. Then eventually, a solid idea can be created and worked from that. The nats t-shirt was awesome, considering the time it was made.

I've printed like 3 of my own shirts at home, 2 of which were trials branded. Monty and Adamant.
You don't need any special shit, I did it all ghetto like.
All you need is some material paint, a paint roller, an exacto knife and some spray on adhesive to make sure the stencil doesn't move. Then I printed the stencil I made on normal a4 paper, put layers of masking tape over the back, like 4-5 layers depending on how strong/long lasting you want the stencil. And cut the image out.
I've only done one layer designs so far but 2-3 layers shouldn't be to hard.
Oh and they came our really good.
Heres a design I did for a t-shirt a while ago and a gas mask

I did some bleach printing to make a hope trials rotor t-shirt. it cost me like two dollars to make and didn't come out horrible... anything that's a one or two-color light design on a dark shirt can be done this way

Rush's shirt idea isn't bad.
I'm not huge on the red sky and I think Observedtrials.net should be below the image or on the back, in a larger sized font.
This thread inspired me. In the coming months I might produce a batch of trials shirts.
talk to the screen printer before designing the art. find out their guidelines and capabilities before you start.

One of my GD teachers turned me on to this site and it's pretty good. You design the image and they'll print it on whatever you want. You just need to buy the items for it to be printed on..t-shirts is one the options.
Or you can go old school and buy the iron on sheets and do it yourself.

Rush,
I've actually always like this design that you did, however I really think it would look so much nicer if it took up either a large portion of the front or back of the shirt and then on the opposite side it would have, Observedtrials.net in plain easy to read letters.
I stopped working on t-shirt designs cause my computer went down and I lost my Photoshop program that I copied off my friend.

I tend to avoid dark colored shirts that are screenprinted.
When they use dark shirts, they have to use a thicker ink (or multiple coats), and you can feel the picture/design when you are wearing it. Also, when the shirt shrinks/stretches, the picture doesnt, causing it to bubble out and sometimes start to come off. It's not a problem when the image is small, but gets annoying when it covers the front/back of the shirt.
Maybe its just me?
I like white/grey/blue

i have a pedal kix tee shirt and that 02 nats shirt. somewhere... no idea where these days though.
gas masks are not played out at all. i'd love to see another dozen of them.
I just wanted a trials t shirt that wasnt garish and ridiculous like every single trials t shirt ive ever seen except one.
It should be here soon, ill take a pic or two when it arrives.

I always hated printing on dark shirts for this reason. The white base you have to lay down really gives it a shitty feel unless the printer can print simulated process. It's all how the art is seperated for the shirt.

seriously Im a fucking hack and my shirts came out ok, I used a giant 2 foot long paint brush, some acyrlic paint, and I used the plastic front of an organizer to cut out into various upsetting shapes. the acrylic doesn't wash out either, although its very thick and you can kind of feel it through it, but whatever I ball hard.
