I talked to Felt and they said theyll sell me the rims they use on some of their cruisers. The rims have a decent profile and would only cost 25$- the problem is that with echo's new rim being 46mm Im wondering if they might be too wide?
What do you think? ill be using good ole HS33s on the new pure. Gracias.

i think they'll fit (probably not with new pads). i'm a little skeptical about using a cruiser rim for trials though.

hey

the old echo's were 48 mm, so 50mm is only one mm more at each side.. you've got a good chance that it will work.
Do you happen to know the weight of these rims?

The rims are probobly tankishly heavy. If anything I would say go with the surly large marge..... but they'r like 65mm wide. 25 bucks, i guess its worth a try. Drill em.

the surly large merge is crazy strong, for dh purposes. I threw it on my trials bike just to get a feel, and it was awesome. It eliminates tire roll, and it adds alot of volume to the tire so you get awesome rebound. it's super deep so it would probably resist flatspotting better than anything else.

I wouldn't use it for trials though, it's heavy and on the better side of 100$usd, that and I'm scared of rear disc.

tankish weight, probably, so Ill drill the eff out of it.
quality, Im guessing theyre on par with Try-all and such as for that. Ive never been too impressed with trials rims.
I also know that the cost on most of those rims is 20$, or used to be, and I hate paying 300% mark-up. So goes the trials world....

I wanted to have a new wheel readyfor when my frame arrived, but I guess Ill just do some measuring once it gets here. I might just buy the improved echo rim.

I got my frame from HBtrials btw and I found it to be a good experience. Hugo was very helpful and even refunded me a ton on shipping when it turned out to not cost as much as originally qouted. Sorry to the guy who was indecisive about the last pure left.

Are try-all good rims? or just good enough? Id say the latter.
Im going to order a rim from Felt tomorrow. We'll see.
