pivoting on rear wheel

i cant get any type of turn when im on my back tire, even when i spin on the front wheel then shift to the back i can only spin a little bit. i know i've seen people do it, so is there anything that can help me practice this or should i just try and get into the habit of just hoping and turning that way

Look where you want to go. Not just a little turn of the head, rotate your entire body. Wind up in the direction you want to go. Your bike will follow. Ponit your chest in the direction you want to go and bring your handle bar with you.

Additional trick; find a block/post/stump that you can get to from all sides. Put your front wheel on it and without lifting your front wheel hop your back wheel around it. Do this in both directions and it will help you with ballance while turning.
