View Full Version : Hope pro II trials hub lockring
Hi All. just recieved my Hope Pro II trials rear hub (woohoo :run: ) but have a question. Came with bolts, spacers for running a single cog but no lockring.
Should there be a lock ring?
If not then what lock ring do I use?
Thanks all. This is the start of my Echo Pure project (long way to go) so I am very happy.

It just takes a normal cassette lockring. If you dont have one im sure most bike shops will have a couple lying around out the back

Mine didn't come with a lock ring either, just use a standard shimano lockring.
Thanks all. I am sure I can sorce one of those. Now all I need is a rim.
Aykay, Adam Macbeth mentioned you might be a good person to ask about an Alex DX32... Any chance of getting one of these off you.:bigthumb:
Thanks.

nice i got a hope pro 2 trials on an echo pure, feels awesome and it hasnt skipped on me yet. ive actually also got a question about the spacers it came with, one has a little lip that seems to be meant for the outside next to the lockring, but is it really neccessary? to get a perfect chainline id have to use a different one on the outside, but ive been a little hesitant to do that cuz i didnt wanna screw something up. so whats the word guys?

It doesn't matter. As long as you have enough spacers the you go PAST the cassette body a bit so that the lock ring squeezes everything together. If you don't use enough spacers, the cog will be able to move back and forth, which is bad. I can't see an issue with not using that end spacer... Most pepole don't, me included (not on a Pro Trials 2 mind you).
