Echo is readily available but I have heard a lot of people complain about breaking Echo parts. I have only seen two Montys. They were both sweet. I would say Monty. Then again some of the high end bikes come decked head to toe in Echo so what do I know.

If your just startting, then either one you choose will be a good choice.

The fact is which do you like better, which is more affordable, which is easier to find on the market?

I like the echo a little better because they are available in a long version, though I have ridden both and like them both.

Though you are just startting and it might be easier to learn on a smaller frame, for the basic moves.

Also how tall are you, if 5' 10" or taller then the long version of the echo.

If you are shorter then 5' 10" then the shorter monty or the short echo.

Sorry not much help.

Matt.

from what i understand the whole bb height thing isnt too big of a deal on mod. just cuz the wb is so small. i have a zoo which i guess has a high bb but i love it so much. i personally thing a zoo python is an excellent choice. the only thing that i would change is the bash ring. i have an 05. i kinda wish i had a bash plate instead but you can get an older one and have that if you really want one. but the geo is really nice. im about 5'9 and like it. im also a pretty beefy rider as well and it tkes a beating for sure and seems to hold up pretty well.
