Hi this is Jeremy VanSchoonhoven
I am planning on comming out to the Norba Nationals in Colorado next month
I was looking for flights today and they are a lot cheaper if I fly to denver rather then Aspen so I was wondering if any of you guys from denver are going to the event and if so could you give me a ride up there from the denver airport?

It would also be cool if we could go for a big group ride in denver either before or after the event!.

In case any of you are wondering what event Jeremy is talking about, he is refering to the National Finals for NORBA. This is the event where you can win the stars and stripes jersey, which makes you national champion for NORBA and USA Cycling. The event will be held in Aspen Colorado on Saturday August 12th. You can e-mail me for more info at zaktrials@yahoo.com

Kevin,
I am planning on flying in on the 10th and flying home on the 13th or 14th let me know what works better for you.

have you been riding much?
I had to take a bunch of time off after mammoth last year where I hurt my ankle really bad. I think I was off the bike for a little over 6 months.... yea it sucked big time.
anyway I am back riding again and getting ready for UCI world! yea thats going to be really tuff this year..

I am getting a new bike in the next week or so its an Adamant A1 from webcyclery, its going to be built up with all the light parts I can find! it should be a sweet bike! webcyclery is sponsoring me this year so that is cool! I really like working with them they are good guys!

What bike are you riding these days?

norba one, just know that unless you are a US citizen, you wont be eligible for winning the title.

glad to hear you're back on the bike jeremy. im still on an xtp- they dont break when they sit in your garage. depending on your flight time i might already be in snowmass on the 10th. not sure. but let me know when you have stuff set. the details will come together on their own... with help. that doesnt make any sense.

jeremy, i've got to stay through sunday afternoon. i have to be shooting the dh stuff all that day. if you can find someone to catch a ride back to denver on the 12th that's great, if not, im sure i can give you a ride on the 13th if you have a later flight in the day.

Kevin,
I booked my flight this morning! I am going to be flying in on the 9th and home on the 13th So it should work out for me to ride up with you however I need to be back to denver for a 6:30 am flight on the 13th.

Do you know of anyone that is heading back right after the comp? otherwise its going to be a long ride on my trials bike!:p

Man I cant wait to get back to Colorado! Its so much fun riding with you guys ! is there any way we can get a group ride togeather on the `10th? Kevin could you make it if its an early ride? anyone else from denver area interested in riding on the 10th?

well not much has changed with me I am still riding the XTP but its falling apart.. Everything on the bike is about to give out.. I have been really impressed with how well it held up though.

I really cant wait for my new bike! Its going to be really light and strong… yea I know those don’t go together so lets just say its going to be as strong as I need it to be! I hope
I went online to Webcyclery and spent two days looking up parts and comparing them before I decided what I was going to get.

I just got back from my friends house (he is a machinist) he is making an adaptor for the white industries freewheel so it will fit on my FSA carbon cranks! Yes its going to be sweet! They are lighter then XTR and stronger then anything else I have used.
I am going to try to get my new bike to weigh 2 or 3 pounds less then the stock XTP.

I don't know if you actually ever read this forum, but a word of advice about the A1/echo pure fork combo: it feels weird. The bike's made around a 400mm fork with a fairly slack head angle. I've got a pure (which are 420mm) on my A1, and in almost gets "chopper flop" since it slackens the head angle so much. I've gotten used to it, but if you're throwing the pure on for comps only, it could make the bike feel weird. Just a thought -

Jmkimmel,
Thanks for mentioning this!
The only reason I was thinking about getting the echo fork is becasue it is a lot lighter however I am not sure it will hold up to a lot of hard riding.

Do you know how the Koxx fork compairs in weight to the Gu fork? I cant seem to find anywhere that lists the weight of my koxx fork so I dont know if the Gu fork is heavier or not. if it is the same weight or lighter then the koxx then I will ride it for everyting.

any help on this?

WhiteRavenKS
07-20-2006, 09:40 AM
koxx fork is like 2.25 pounds. and mine lasted way longer than any of the alloy steerer echo forks.

i probably cant make it to a ride ont he 10th. im probably going to have to be in snowmass already. bummer.

What about the Control fork? It looks similar to the Pure fork, but the length is 400mm. I had a Pure fork on my Control and switched to an Urban (400mm) and it made a big difference. The shorter fork was definitely an improvement.

If you want a ride up Jeremy I would be glad to give you one. I'm thinking of going down friday evening, but haven't made any real plans. Including where I am going to be staying. Is there a hotel that all the cool people stay in?

xtreme_jeremy
07-24-2006, 12:29 AM
I dont know where I am staying either.. I bet that there is a hotel that the cool people stay at but they would not tell me where it is.. they said something like go back to Oregon cowboy. JK

Let me know when you find out what day you are heading up and maybe something will work out.
