why carbon for chainstay protectors/down tube? steel is real. i guess its not going to snap or anything like when it gets a ding in the handle bars. looks sweet though. where did you get it/how did you do it?

carbon because itīs looking great and not very heavy.all carbon parts together weights 60 gr and they are working very well.
Iīve done it myself in my fathers firm. that`s just possible with professional equipment

true... carbon is sweet i was just thinking from a strength/durabilty stand point i guess. i wish i could make carbon parts :wtc:

carbon isn't very malleable, which is perfect for protecting from dents. happens to help that it's fairly light...

looks great! I have been wanting to make something like that for a while now. Did you use just one layer of fabric or a sandwich core?

for impact resistance, metal sucks. It should definately prevent dents. Although not exactly the same, they make kevlar vests to stop bullets, the carbon fiber will prevent dents.
