Simple question.
For general trials use, the soft compound seems to be the right choice.
Its just that name and the way they advertise it makes me think that im not gonna be able to unglue my bike of the ground...
what are your experiences?
thanks

I consider the gooey gluey compond to be pretty hard compared to maxxis offerings
I havent used one, but gooey-gluey sounds like the type of compound you would prefer for trials.
See if you can find out what durometer they are. That may help you compare it to maxxis tyres. I think the super-tacky maxxis are 40? The much harder compound high roller I had was 60.
hello?

maxxis super tacky are 42
slow reezay were 40 and the tires tear and wear down stupidly fast.
I heard that the Gooey gluey compound wasnt as that hard so i'd definetly go with it

Gooey Gluey is VERY nice for trials. I've used mine for a while and it's easily as grippy as a Maxxis, but bouncier and lighter.

pronounced "Schval-Bay" - it means Swallow apparently.
I just love saying the name. "Swallow"... "SWALLOW" !

Can we even get "Swallow" tires here (Australia)? I've never seen them in a shop, but I've also never been looking for them so :dunno:

I just glued it on. First impressions are really good!
I had about 4 rides on it and it seems to be perfect.
Not too heavy, thread that makes sense, nice white graphics.(serious lookin) I think it grips really well, Sometimes im quite surprised when i land and dont slip at all.
(But part of this is, that i had my previous rear tire way longer than i should have had...)
I can recommend.
About Maxxis
I think they are very good tires.
But personally I never totally swallowed their visual style.
Orange, yellow, red, orange line, weird fonts. ...like for little kids
Also the fact that i can find these tires on many many stock mtb's in the bikeshops is a big turnoff for me.
But as I said. Just mine feelings. Nothing to do with performance.
cheers
thanks again for your help

you have funny words. I hope you didn't literally glue it on. It says specifically (On vittorias anyway) to install ONLY on hook-type rims!

Dont worry... I just wanted to keep the style of this thread as it evolved. We all like to play with words such as "swallow" or "glue"
