Ok, well I was having alot of issues with my Rennen... it was not lined up with my front chain ring and my chain kept popping off. Also, I need to use a half link with it.

I ended up putting my derailleur back on. I took out the large spring and zip tied the derailleur to my frame. The arm part of the derailleur is still able to put tension on the chain.

Is that all I need to do in order for me to lock it out?

I read some of the other posts about how to lock out a derailleur, but I got kinda lost.

If anyone could post a pic of how they have theirs set up, that would be great! thanks!

Adjust the limit screws in, so that the derailer dosn't move side to side as much as possible.

Also take a derailer cable, insert it into the adjuster barrel on the derailer and pull it tight and anchor it down with the anchor bolt, thatwill keep it from moving side to side as well.

For the Rennen, you still have to make sure you have a good chain line. It's a pretty crappy design that way, but once it's set up it works super well. What you need to do is get a longer bolts, and put some washers in there to move the Rennen's roller to where it needs to be, and you should be good to go.

lcoking out the derailleur can mean one, or two, of two things.

1 - removing the spring which allows the body to rotate on the derailleur hanger bolt. Removing this spring and replacing it with a washer holds the derailleur onto the hanger and stops this joint from rotating. Good for trials.

2 - stopping its movement using either the limit screws, a ziptie around the cage, or a short piece of cable installed through the barrel adjuster and secured to the pinch bolt to hold it in one gear.

Regarding method #1 - How do I go about taking that spring out? I messed with it a little, but I can't seem to figure it out. Is it something that just needs to be forced or pryed off?

Using the derailleur ... I like the fact that I don't have to use a half link anymore and I was able to put my new Kool 810 on there with no master link. I think I trust it a little more.

I'll have to look into getting a longer bolt for my Rennen. Thanks carnagr for the suggestion. I do miss using that cause it is small, light and strong.
